    Ddg elliot
    Trippier Danilo hegazi mee rangel
    Kdb alli salah ramsey barry
    Lukaku batshyai austin.

Hegazi typical pulis player l. he and mee rotate easily. Have doubts over batshuyai starting, but with pedro and hazard on the sidelines 2 weeks is guaranteed. Will get a clearer picture on sunday. Other than that satisfied with the overall team. Had planned to cover atleast 1 player of top 6 in attack as my initial strategy.
Barry? As in Barry off Everton? If soz, get rid of him you absolute lunatic :pac: won't play much and even if he does bot a goal threat and gets a yellow every 2nd game.

I mean any cheapie 4.5 mid...didnt wanna take a high ownership 4.5 mid cuz of price drops...anyways thanks for the heads-up

 Why would he start? He is a striker. Willian and Cesc are more likely?

So many better options than Barry at 4.5

    Carroll - Swansea
    Loftus Cheek - Palace
    Are 2 stand outs

    Romeu - Southampton
Delph - if he goes on loan to a PL team

This is driving me nuts!!! :):)

Latest draft, decided to try and fit in both Kane and Lukaku, can easily downgrade as their prices are high to fix up defence a bit if things dont work out.
    Any thoughts on this?
    De Gea (Elliot)
Francis Trippier Yoshida (Duffy, Alexander Arnold - may put him into starting 11 and see if he plays)
Zaha De Bruyne Willian Pogba (Carrol)
    Jay Rod Kane Lukaku

If you're not planning on playing the 4.5 I totally agree with the logic of playing Barry. Carroll and/or Loftus Cheek will drop like stones if they're not playing, same with Rangel. Pick the lowest ownership one and there's less chance of him dropping.

    DDG (Elliott)
    Alonso, TAA, Danilo (mee, ake)
    Mkhi, pogba, KDB, fabregas (iwobi)
    Austin, Jesus, Batshuayi

By what conte is saying it seems batshuayi is going to play the first few games. Could see both himself and morata. Will decide properly after the community shield.

Trippier seems to be falling from teams in favour of Danilo
I must admit I'm wavering myself with an eye to bringing him in after a few weeks first ........if VVD goes to Chelsea it won't be a difficult decision
Also wavering on saints defence ..........one more week one more week :D

I would be going for the tried and tested Trippier over Danilo. You know what you are going to get with him. Solid Spurs defence and then some assists from crosses.

Is TAA not just a guaranteed transfer out in a few weeks?

Are you familiar with the legend of "two transfers guy" from season 15/16. We won't hear a bad word against Barry round these parts.

    I'm not, what happened? :)

Edit: Also can anyone advise me on Chelsea players, I've none ATM so who would people recommend. Can't work Hazard, Alonso is a bit pricey so I couldn't justify him.

jack cork 0.4% ownership 4.5 will start every week when fit.

Hazard is out for the start of the season so why would you even consider him?

Willian and Fabregas would be the popular picks.

After much tweaking I'm come to this

    Fabianski (Elliot)

    Trippier, Bailly, Daniels, Dunk, Mee
    Salah, Ali, Fabregas, Zaha, Richie
    Lukaku, Jesus, Abraham

I'm planning on rotating a 3-5-2 & 3-4-3 formations. Plus, rotating Daniels, Dunk & Mee each week. At the moment I might go with 3-4-3 for GW1 and give Abraham a run out, benching Richie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 309 ✭✭DwightSchrute1

    De Gea (Elliot)
David Luiz, Tripper, Bellerin, (Hunemeier, Rangel)
Alli, Pogba, De Bruyne, Loftus-Cheek, (Carroll)
    Chicharito, Lukaku, Firmino.

Have 1.5m in the bank. Just wondering should I buy cheaper defenders to try and accommodate Kane into the team, or is Alli enough Spurs covering for the beginning of the season.

    There are none.

Long, Mariappa or Hunemeier are your best bets though.

Probably, but loads of the 4.5 defenders have bad first few weeks so TAA is a decent shout before trading him in for someone like a West Ham defender in week 3.

    You won't do it though
    Attackers you have won't perform
    Attackers you don't will
There is no way you will prioritize him over that
So you might lose value ........

Rangel is currently placing at the 3rd highest selected defender, does that have any significance or is he just fodder?

He is fodder and very likely to lose value

I'd say he's just a name people recognise as appearing the odd time last season and threw him in.

Ohhhhhhh, what is this legend you speak of?

Trying to fit both KDB and Jesus in...

    Foster
    Cedric Trippier Francis Tomkins
    KDB Willian Zaha
    Kane Lukaku Jesus

    Elliot Carroll Mee Cork

Does having 4 big hitters weaken the rest of the team too much though? It probably does :o

    Option B 3-4-3

    Foster
    Jones Trippier Cedric
    KDB Willian Ritchie Milojevic
    Kane Lukaku Jesus

I've gone that route, having more 4.5m defenders allows me a stronger front 7 so happy enough to take a -4 if the worst comes to the worst.

Just had my first proper look at a possible team and I'm already going round the twist!

Thought I'd throw this up here to see what people thing, even if I'm not sure I'm happy with it myself. I have set the team up with heavy emphasis on the first 3-6 weeks as I will have used my WC by GW6 at the latest.

De Gea (5.5): Man U will have a tight defence and, coupled with their opening fixtures, defensive cover is needed. I'm unsure who the back 4 will be, so I'm going safe and picking De Gea
Elliott (4.0): Won't play with De Gea in my team but may as well have a playing 4.0 just in case.

Trippier (5.5): Spurs will be strong defensively and Trippier has a great cross on him so there is the potential for assists.
Dawson (5.0): Excellent opening fixtures if Pulisball kicks back in. Also a threat from corners
Alexander-Arnold (4.5): Should play with Clyne out, great going forward. There is a fear of the Liverpool defence not being completely solid, but for his price I think hes worth the risk
Dunk (4.5): I think Brighton will be tight defensively. Hes a guaranteed starter with good fixtures from GW3 (when TAAs turn)
Gamez (4.0): Bench fodder who may start with Yedlin injured. Low ownership so hopefully won't lose value

Alli (9.5): Spurs cover. Toss up between him and Eriksen
Salah (9.0): Liverpool will score goals. Toss up again between him and Coutinho
Fabregas (7.0): Assist machine for the champions. I see many going for Willian, but I'm leaning towards Fab.
Ramsey (7.0): Arsenal usually start slow, but I think the game on Sunday will help them. Ramsey has more freedom since Arsenal went to 3 at the back.
Carroll (4.5): Will only be used in emergencies. Guaranteed starter, who may have dead ball duties.

Lukaku (11.5): I'm not convinced Man U will pile up the goals, but fixtures and ownership levels mean I'm going with big Rom.
Jesus (10.5): City attacking coverage. Who knows if its the right one! His ability to play wide makes me think his game time is more secure than some others.
Benteke (8.0): Guaranteed starter, good fixtures, regular (enough!) goalscorer. Also I'm not confident in any one below this value (Austin, Gayle etc)

I do think KDB and Kane is a better combination than Alli and Jesus, but that 2.5m gives me Ramsey and Benteke instead of (say) Walters and Austin.

    All criticisms gladly accepted!

I get your reasoning around DeGea. I just think that when there are a few GKs 1m cheaper who are likely to outscore due to the saves points, its better to invest the 1m elsewhere. I've went Foster.

Trippier is the bargain of the season, no brainer. Dawson I get, I just prefer some other 5ms, particularly Ake. As for TAA, major risk to start with. To be honest I'll be avoiding Liverpool for the first few weeks until we see what sort of rotation we're dealing with. With them drawing Hoffenheim today and playing the home and away matches between the first 3 PL games, that's 5 games in 15 days. Your 4.5 and 4.0 are as valid as all the others. First year in a while that the cheap defender route has been so poor.

Fair play taking Ramsey - definitely in my watch list but too risky for me to start with. Much prefer Zaha at the same money. Carroll is another bargain, much prefer him to RLC at 4.5. As for Coutinho/Salah, see above.

I see your reasoning but I'm still starting Kane and KdB. Means I don't get Alli. Tekkers I'm not sure on. Much Prefer Defoe at the same money. Or Rooney at 0.5m cheaper but you'll need serious patience selecting him.

    Just my 2c!

Ramsey's yellow flag has put me off at the moment but I guess we'll see if he plays or not on Sunday. Otherwise he'd be in my team.. There's still lots of time between now and the deadline next week.

Carroll is nailed on to start imo - bar a serious influx of signings by Swansea.
