Why lock the match thread, just ban the people who continually post off topic, particularly today's posters about splitting up Dublin GAA.

I sent the mod a message. I think it could have been handled better.

Agreed, I love reading those posts anyway.
    All that delicious salt.

Ah c'mon now. This isn't a full time, paid job for them all. They're entitled to enjoy the day & the match along with everyone else.

'Sides, it's the closest someone from Cork, Meath & Mayo will get to an AI final these days.

(Sorry mods. I'll ease your work load & give myself a red card for that exceedingly cheap shot. :D )

Was up in Dublin for the day today.
You wouldn't have known there was an All Ireland final on.

Still, 4 in a row is a great achievement.

Good win by Dublin, four in row is a great achievement.
Fair play to Tyrone, spirited performance, and you have to admire Mickey Harte's resolve despite all the hatred and abuse directed to him. (and not by the genuine Dublin fans I might add)

Well Done Dublin - they are well
Ahead of the rest. Right from
The first league game - they had every team at arms length.
    Dublin played within themselves
Poor season in general - roll
    On next year.

So happy and drained. On antibiotics for last few days but no work tomorrow so celebration is in order.

The gift that keeps giving. Thank you Dublin

WTF? An All Ireland Final thread closed after an this awesome win.

Anyway, delighted to witness it today, so now it's the Drive to Five.:D

Bit ridiculous to close the match thread, if there are posts slightly off topic does it really matter, it's not as if boards will be sued for misleading people if a thread veers slightly off topic.

  • Registered Users Posts: 494 ✭✭Irish Kings

Saves having to bother your arse moderating it though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,239 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

Jaysus lads. Calling a team dirty isn't allowed now? Yellow cards being given for it. ****ing hell boards needs to stop being so uptight...it's the internet.

Closing match threads a couple hours after the full time whistle. No wonder so many people give up on this site.

I backed Mccaffrey to get it so kept a close eye on him, didn’t think he did enough to get it though. I would say Mannion or Howard. Fenton played well too.

I reckon mannion will get it
But mc caffrey will win player of the year

Says it all, sure the egg chasing season started this weekend too

Mannion was the star player today. McCaffrey just looks better because he sprints past players 1:1. Mannion was scoring penalties and blocking shots.

    Just back

    Delighted with the win.

I was worried when they got it back to 4 points

I'll post more later but a few key things for me

We didn't get moving until Kilkenny came out the field, his first point from play kicked it all off

Cian O'Sullivan was not at the races at all. He would have been better used for the last 20 minutes in a compact defense

Michael Fitz was a marked improvement

I thought Kevin McManamon was well off the pace when he came on, not in time with the flow of the team. Mannion staying on would have been better.

C Cavanagh was at sea, numerous people picked him up and he was trying to put out fires everywhere it was well rehearsed.

Howard's performance for a young lad was fantastic, he did everything

Mannion got a very tough time but was great, what a penno.

It was brilliant to experience 4 in row

Tyrone got stuck in and made a great game of it for me anyway

What an achievement. Well done to a fantastic team.
For me Mannion should get man of the match and Kilkenny is POTY.

He came over to his family afterwards, and told them "I'm F***ing Knackered".

Yeah, I thought that they really went for it, but that spell in the first half where Dublin turned a four point deficit into a four point lead just took the wind out of their sails completely.

A most enjoyable day, very memorable too.

Fair play to Tyrone for bring it as well, might not have been reflected in the scoreline at the end, but I'd say every Dublin player who went out on that pitch will be feeling that game for the next couple of weeks.

Anyone got the exact time the first goal was scored to the second. Like the official time? Checking my golden goal tickets ;)

Was 21.30 or thereabouts I think. Cuala were selling scratch cards for the prediction.

That was awesome period. An eleven point turn around in ten minutes.

Not too many teams would not collapse after that but in fairness to Tyrone they kept at it and was biting nails up until injury time.
