It's time to get down to the serious questions now lads: what jersey to wear? The 83 retro replica, or the modern AIG one?

I love wearing my 95 special to all matches. But because I wore my 2001/02 yoke to the final in 2011. I have continued to wear that in all finals since.

So like last year, I'll wear the 95 into town and switch to the 11 with my brother and then after the game is over and Sam is secured I'll switch back.

In 2016 I wore the 95 to the first final and we all know what happened then.

F**k Jim's system, it's my jersey is what keeps Sam in the metropolitan district.

    ---

Speaking of Sunday, today was the first day I actually felt anything about the match.

I don't have a ****ing Celtic jersey but I'll admit to owning a Liverpool jersey! I can't wear a Dublin jersey playing 5 aside with the lads know can I.

This is the strangest All-Ireland build up ever.
The Dubs could do 4 in a row FOUR in a bleedin' row!
I never thought I would live to see back-to-back never mind four in a row.

It will be historic. Yet because of how far ahead Dublin are and how far behind the other counties are -
It is just made to look so easy.
It is almost assumed Dublin are going to win it is a question of how much.
I have never been as confident going into an AI in my life, at the back of my mind all I can think of is can they do five to beat that Kingdom crowd, with the notions?
The possibility of losing has not even entered my mind.

I trust Jim, I trust the process...until the lights decline I'll remember the Dubs in these rare auld times.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Doing the usual routine of watching all Dublin final DVDs from this decade (workload increasing each year).

One common theme that gets me angry watching them back each time is Martin Carney's biased commentary. Every contentious decision should go against the Dubs, every decision against them doesn't get questioned and quite a few decisions in our favour get questioned.

I suppose I should get used to it now, and shouldnt' be surprised given that he is a Donegal man who defected to Mayo- but still- drives me mad. Search for his Midwest Radio commentary of last year and the drawn semi final in 2016 between Kerry and Mayo- mental stuff.

Anyway, Up the Dubs- can't wait for Sunday.

    Bear with me now...

During the game last year as i thought i saw it slip away I kinda came to an acceptance that we wouldn't win and given the opposition and the history and the amount of friends from Mayo I have it soothed the anguish somewhat. It didn't last long. But it happened. Then as the last 2 minutes ticked by I turned into a demon and couldn't countenance losing.

    3 is special

    4 is greatness

    5 is immortality

We know that this the greatest team of all time with the greatest coach in the history of the game but I want it to be so undisputed as to make the crawling around in the long grass for excuses and "buts" to be so pathetic to show "them" up.

(I may have had 3 stouts)

Exactly, once the likes of Micko and Spillane grudgingly accept that this Dublin team surpasses their great Kerry team.
At the point where if they don't it will look silly.

The Dublin three in a row only gets mentioned as an afterthought at 4.20! :D

    Great 'innit?

The sadism reference was my favorite bit too. That and Martin Carney's voice cracking, like he was going through puberty live on air.

Seriously i thought he was gonna cry after he said "ah its gonna go out over the sideline".

I shouldn't be laughing i still can't watch the end of the 2006 semi final with Mayo and its been 12 years.

Indeed it is hard to believe Dublin are the cusp of a 4 in a row

I can’t help think of diarmuid Connolly this week. One of the most gifted players of his generation and he will miss out. It’s even more hard to believe Dublin survive so comfortably without him.

    Will
    We see him back ?
