Dublin didn't play home league games in Croker back then

    Really?

The real question should be how have Dublin football managed so much success despite having not played a home league game since 2009, or a home championship match since 2004.

Dublin by circumstance have effectively been made homeless as a result.
The bigger crowds in Croke Park have helped the leinster council to fund other teams far more then it has helped Dublin.
Those teams that play/played Dublin in Croke in the national league also get a benefit financially.

Fair play to Dublin for just getting on with it.
Maybe someday the Dublin footballers will come home again?
Currently it is just a cross they have to bear.
Were the games moved to Leitrim or something?
They were still in the same county

You are obviously new to the GAA?
Dublin's home ground is Parnell Park.
Dublin currently rent Croke Park which is the headquarters of the GAA.
Any other county is free to rent Croke Park as well.
Currently Parnell Park is just that bit too small for all those from other counties (and Dublin itself) who wish to see this greatest Dublin team (of any era) in full flow.
If you wish to be deprived of being able this great Dublin team that is up to you, there is less chance for people to see them in the smaller capacity of Parnell Park, you would be really missing out, and inflicting terrible deprivation on yourself in my view.

Not only are the DCB doing other counties a service financially by playing games in Croke Park, they are also giving as large a number of people possible to witness greatness. They should be applauded for that, and yet the players are willing to suffer the hardship of not playing a home game for nearly ten years. They should be applauded as well.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Correct 93 it was I think we'd a replay against Donegal. All home games played in Croker.

Dublin played all home league games in Parnell up to at least 2005.

When did Dublin start playing league games again in CP?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

Think the first Spring Series was either 2010 or 2011.

    Edit: T'was 2011.

    Not really.
Dublin relies on the rest of the country for business
    Same with gaa funding.

No Dublin will put 40k in a stadium, rest of the country besides mayo and Kerry Tyrone and Donegal bring very little.

Will wait for the football in 2 weeks. Usually head up to St Judes 7 a side.
