I hope these puppy farms are consigned to history, some of the pictures you see of the conditions are horrible. A cash cow for those who want handy money.

    Harvard is 200k-300k

You do realise that there are plenty of people in all fields that just have irrelevant degrees to their fields of work?. The US is full of it in all fields and businesses.
But you make a good point too. He was handed a nice Vice President title when Trump was elected. Eric too. Nice if you can get it. Of course neither was actually CEO/CFO that was some other guy handed control.

Yeah, pretty much a day to day life thing that people pass their business onto their children whether wasters or total geniuses.Know it from personal family experience:rolleyes:... Point being?

    Public transport, what's that?

Our Post Office is also a shop/pub/off licence job. About two years ago at the end of the summer a yank strayed into the bar area from one of the local hotels and looking for a change of buzz enquired "Excuse me guys, what time is the next bus to Killarney?"

"June" was the answer, and that was for the next bus to anywhere.

To be fair its not the comments that Grizz is addressing, it's the attitudes of a party to silence their opposition and the hypocrisy of that same group who preached reconciliation and unity but were quick to turn back on their word. These comments and plans should be concerning, whether or not you agree with Trump, as its a very slippery slope to tyranny when you turn a blind eye to censorship. ...as its a very slippery slope to tyranny when you turn a blind eye to censorship.
I've commented on the censorship issue a few times. My view is unchanged.
Nobody should be ok with blanket censorship, especially from a government or governing body. I also don't think it should be acceptable for an elected official, least of all the head of state, to blatantly lie to the public. The government should be held to a higher standard that individuals for obvious reasons.

It's possible to support personal free speech while also expecting elected officials are held to certain standards while representing public office.
Imagine the government mislead the people and lied all the time, North Korea style, and just played it off with "LOL, free speech guys". That's also a slippery slope to tyranny.

If you can't see this, then the question that should be asked is whether "you read the post" or not.

I agree with you, however I don't believe there should be legal consequences for them for misleading or lying to the public. At the very most they could be expelled from public office. However I do believe that media outlets like RTÉ that get public funding should be impartial and should lose funding if they are proven to be consistently biased, if not then it's literal state sponsored propaganda.

I suppose that's the other extreme but I don't think anyone is going to take a politician seriously that just pull that card when he's caught lying. But overall it's a very tricky situation to make a concrete decision on.

I agree with that. Lying isn’t illegal (Excluding perjury or similar of course). But I don’t think being kicked off Twitter is a legal consequence.

Agree completely. Outside of opinion pieces, public or semi-public media should be neutral.

If they said it like that, they’d be ridiculed by the other side.
Instead they complain when their lies are restricted and appeal to the supporters to and the connection for them.

I'm with you 100% here, my local area there is 1 maybe 2 decent independents but unfortunately without a party backing they can do very little outside the immediate community. What alot of people forget is the struggle our forefathers fought in order to get us those rights.

Also forgotten is the fact that they are PUBLIC SERVANTS. somewhere in the last 30 years the shift from serving the public to serving themselves became blurred and forgotten. If we are not happy with them we should be able to say and remove them.

For me it was the bertie-era golden handshakes, selling off Irish gas fields/areas for personal gain that woke me up. Compared to Finland or Sweden where every citizen got a dividend from the sale of the natural fuel reserve.

They are not supposed to be a monarchy, or supposed to be a tyranny. They are supposed to serve the public. This has been forgotten by the masses which leads to handshakes and favours and choosing the 'least worst'.

To me, those that go out in arms defending the 2a in the USA, have the right idea in that they stand up to gov and say no that's not what we elected you for. Now the caveat is that they can portray a negative image with some of their actions but the end result is a strong recognition of their rights and that they are willing to come together and keep gov in check. However I don't condone the Capitol storming they did.

Or such healing words from the old Maxine Waters [D]
If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,

Of course Nancy Pelosis "I just don’t know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country. Maybe there will be" is no doubt very peaceful and healing too with reference to BLM

And lets not forget the VP Kamela Harris saying inrelation to burning down half of Washington DC last year by her mostly peaceful followers " The protesters should not let up.
Or ol baldy Ayanna Pressly calling for violence in the streets last year .

And lets nor forget Hillatys comments on "bitter clingers tp their guns and bibles" ,"deplorables" and the like

All very helpful to unify and heal with people you hate because they voted and have a different outlook on life in America.

Ah yeah, when you put it like that it's really sad.

We vote in the "most popular, but least competent" here.
And f we insist on voting in people because their great grandfather shot a couple of Tans down the backroad, or because he is a great GAA or another sportsman/woman /gender dubious, or he taught you in the local primary school and has never done another job in their lives,or comes from a long dynasty of politicians as they have in some parts ...Well, then we get the politicians we deserve.

Our political bog needs draining too, but we won't vote for anyone who would do this, and not that such a unicorn would exist in Irish political life.
