    What a score
    Surely this is the year

It's a special special kind of torture being a mayo football man with a soft spot for Galway hurlers :D

Tipp put everything into that in fairness to them. Great game

Yeah Galway usually walk all Ireland hurling finals. I'd say they will be hoping for Waterford given their record against Cork

Don't think so. This is the first real team they have played and they made hard work of it. Lots of mistakes and the ref seemed to be harder on Tipp than on them. They will probably be favourites but I suspect it will be a very tight game and neither Waterford or Cork will fear a hammering. Whoever is in the final I expect it will be all to play for in the last couple of minutes and then anything could happen.

A fantastic game to rescue the GAA after an otherwise mediocre Saturday at HQ.

    Monster second half from Joe

Some poor misses from Callanan in that game. He wasn't missing those against Clare in July!

Galway record v Waterford is worse.

    Not in all Ireland finals.

Whoever comes through Galway will be favourites.

Joe Canning; the man is a colossos. Amazing game, the tension was sickening right until the end.

    Not in all Ireland finals.

    Exemplary logic.

Yeah well look at the record. Galway don't deal well with being favourites in finals. In fact they don't deal well with all Ireland hurling finals at all.

It looked close but I never once got the impression that Tipp were going to win it. Galway were superior and just the Galway nerves kept Tipp in touch. It's been another feeble defence of a title by a Tipperary team. John McGrath was wonderful in fairness but not much else there for Tipp.

I really don't think Galway can handle the pressure. I hope Cork get through the semi-final and after that I don't care who wins it, but I'd fancy Cork at this stage.

What exactly is there to fear..? Both teams will acknowledge it will be a tough challenge, but neither will fear a Galway team who only beat Tipp by a point and made an fair few errors. It's not like they're Kilkenny circa 2008.

Tbf feeble isn't a word I'd apply to that tipp performance

I think today was Galway's annual flop and they will learn alot from it, in reality they should have won by more. If Waterford beats Cork then Galway will win it, but if Cork wins it will be a tougher affair but we will have to see what Cork V Waterford serves up next week.

I don't have to, point is Galway have never played Waterford in an All Ireland final so there's no comparison to draw.

Well Galway record against Waterford couldn't be any worse than it is against cork in all Ireland senior hurling finals. Anyway it is likely to be Galway v Cork with Galway strong favourites.

Maybe there is an argument that that was a decent performance but maybe the drama of it obscures the truth.

Over the course of the summer Tipp have been very weak champions.

Fantastic game of hurling, well done to both sides. Galway were just that little better the whole game so deserved it. Delighted for Canning, what a score to win it. Great to see Galway come out on top in a close game too. That will really stand to them in the final. This is their best chance to finally win Liam.

It is worse because Cork have beaten Galway in 6 finals, while Galway have never beaten Waterford in 12 championship meetings.

Being honest, Both are completely irrelevant.

Galway still have a lot of room for improvement. That must have been David Burke's worst ever game for Galway. He could barely pick the ball let alone shoot. Missed some scores that he would normally put over with his eyes closed. Cathal Mannion was quiet as was Jason Flynn after he came on. Niall Burke again showed why he's best as an impact sub.

Great entertainment all the same. The last 3 Galway v Tipp games will go down as one of the great hurling trilogies. Three games decided by a single point. Mad.

Such a delight to watch compared to most of the ****e you see with the big ball.

Thought a lot of Galway players touch was very poor, they did that the hard way

After today we are guaranteed new All-Ireland Champions who haven't won since 2005 for Cork, 1988 for Galway and 1959 for Waterford. Galway have been the most consistent of these three over the last few years and Waterford the least.

Ok well you are changing it to non all Ireland finals matches now. Galway have beaten Cork in non all Ireland hurling final matches In my view the all Ireland day is different to other matches with the occasion and what it brings.

I can't imagine any Galway person would prefer cork in the final over Waterford.

In a sense it was an ideal way to win for galway as there is still room for improvement. Some poor decision making overall and very loose passes. It's very hard to make any assessments about the final just yet given the other semi hasn't even been played yet but galway will be deserved favourites

Cork have had a stellar year though and their forwards will take serious watching
    if they do come through.

I thought p.mannion, Mac (2nd half), Whelan were outstanding. Looking forward to next week now

On another note I'd love if they played both semis the one weekend.
