if you've got any questions ask ace attorney. I noticed whilst creeping his profile he has clocked up over 400 hours on that:)

Was there any truth in the Xenoblade Pro Controller being a updated model.

there is a tiny design change in it, it seems to have improved the d pad but I'm skeptical as to how much.

motion controls>sticks / hope your playing with them they have much better accuracy, also adjust your sensitvity for aiming in the options menu and find one that it more comfortable for you to aim with, i.e lower sensitvities mean less shakey for when using scoped chargers. find whats comfortable for you! pm if you would like a hand

I know well, ive become just so addicted since christmas to salmon run and ranked modes, as well as rocket league that ive neglected the xenoblade chronicles too much and the other games that i havent tocuhed at all!

Really wish Resident Evil Revelations 2 had that, I tried it with the motion controls the other day, and it's hyper sensitive! Makes it really difficult to aim with any degree of precision at all.

I've yet to give it more than a few minutes. The thought of spending long enough to get used to the controls is daunting, as I don't seem to have much of an instinct for it any time I throw it on.

What's the cheapest place to get new controllers for the Switch. They're extortionately priced in most major retailers.

You just missed a sale in GS of all places, Pro Controller for €59.99.
That said, there's plenty of choice in wired controllers for around the €29.99 mark and then there is also the 8bitdo range for around €50.
Be aware that 3rd party controllers, as of now, don't include either rumble or Amiibo functions, while the 1st party Pro Controller does both.

Plenty of reviews on the Youtube for Switch controllers so I'd say have a gander there and invest accordingly.

It seems as though one of my joy cons gets some lag sometimes and I have to disconnect it (by pressing the little circle button on the side) from the switch and then reconnect it. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Just replaced my plastic @Play protector with a shiny new tempered glass Orzly.
It's working wonders. No noticeable buttons intact.

Been playing tiny barbarian on the way to work for the past month what a epic fun game.

It's just the right kind of hard were you are like ok I will try pass this room another 3 times.

It's your classic old school 2d platform game you must learn the way the stage works and then you are flying in it.

Only on captor 3 but some day I be on the last one !!!.

I have Resident Evil Revelations and am not impressed with the motion controls at all. Hope to finish it soon, should I go ahead and get the 2nd one, is it much better or more of the same?

    Thanks

I got it from Amazon the other day. I really enjoyed Revelations when I played it on the 3DS. Revelations 2 seems to be more of the same. The story is standard Resident Evil fare, the controls etc are much the same as the first. If you liked the first, go for it.

Really not enjoying Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, not sure what I'm not getting but it feels really clunky and unintuitive.

I think the open world hubs have really cost the LEGO games a lot of charm, especially now they seem to be moving a lot of gameplay into them and the main levels seem far shorter. Some LMSH2 levels are 2 rooms, and the 2nd could be a boss room. And then the inclusion of flying characters really negates a lot of the point, meaning you just fly up and directly to the next point, and the open world maps becoming boringly sprawling to account for this.

Give it a little bit of time. I quite enjoyed it after the first couple of levels, once the actual open world became available. It takes about 3 - 4 levels. Before that, you're in kind of closed hubs that will eventually make up the open world. I think it's after you fight Swamp Thing that it starts to get a bit better.

Overall, I enjoyed it. It's not amazing, but seems to be a game better suited to the large screen than a portable.

I must admit I just bought Skyrim for switch as I never played it before due to having small kids and complete lack of time to even scratch the surface of the game. Then at Christmas I got it for PSVR and I played an hour and said nope I ain't gonna ever be able to complete this in VR hence my purchase on switch and all I can say is how happy I am that I can sit on the couch and play this. I am so thankful for ports as its giving me a chance to play games I just simply couldn't of before for one reason or another. I am loving Skyrim though and looks and plays really well on switch. #LONGLIVETHEPORT

Switch ports give us the chance to play older games comfortably on the go.

I'm going to get Dark Souls on the One X but I'm very tempted to get it for Switch as well so I can bring it with me.

Will probably get Bayonetta as well because I missed it first time around.

Metroid Trilogy, on the Switch, could be the biggest and best thing ever.
Give a chance to finally finish Metroid Prime: Echoes.
That game is clever and cruel in equal measure.

That would be the most amazing thing ever to tide everyone over until the new metroid next year, I'd love to revist those games again. Much better idea than the time they ported BOTW to the wii u.

I don't think enough people have played the Prime titles.
If they could remaster them, get them out in a physical cart, rejig those motion controls to a more traditional setup, it would be just insane.
I played the original again, for the first time in ages, in 2017 and was amazed at how well it all stands up, visuals, design, audio, the exploration, the action, a masterclass, though I know there's some that find it plodding.
In fact, there is a host of quality GameCube games that need to make the trip, from Luigi's Mansion to the desperate ache I feel for a Super Mario Sunshine remaster.

Nintendo Investors Meeting was this morning, irish time. Still ongoing.

Kimishima just announced the paid online service is scheduled for launch in September.

Now to see if the one sub will serve all the users on a console or is my habit of buying with a separate account from foreign shops doomed me to have to pay two subs....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,727 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Doubt it. Making the console region free was by design, not a glitch. One online sub should work for all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

So no virtual console in any form till then most likely. Lame.

I'm likely getting Dark Souls for the Switch and probably also the PC.
Maybe I'll also get Bayonetta for the same reason.

Just spotted this on Twitter. Brian Altano from IGN had to send his Switch into Nintendo to fix an issue. They wiped the whole thing. 200+ hours in Zelda, 999 moons in Mario Odyssey, his farm in Stardew Valley, all the save games in all the Indies he had. That's absolutely heartbreaking! Nintendo better have cloud functionality when the online service launches. Or at the very least, a "backup saves to SD" option in the UI. This is not acceptable in 2018.

That is simply awful. I completely agree with how unacceptable it is.
