Great story with 17 year old Romeo Akuchukwu coming on to get a hat trick.

Wasn't the best performance in 1st half but we are through. Next game fixed for Turners Cross but statement last night saying will depend on weather over the next week. Pitches are cutting up with all the rain.

pitch is in terrible condition atm . better hope for the sake of the spectacle its a dry week so work can be done to the pitch

  • Registered Users Posts: 185 ✭✭Deiselurker

It won't be a dry week unfortunately . More than double the average rainfall predicted and Storm Ciaran on the way for midweek. Game may have to be moved so that's why no tickets or kick off time available yet.

yeah that pitch wont be fit to play on at the end of the week

Just thinking the same looking at the match on TV.

Perhaps the two clubs will agree to toss a coin for home advantage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,537 ✭✭✭CorkRed93

there was talk that if it was cobh who got through that they would like the final played in TC. on what ive seen today and friday that pitch wont be ready in 2 weeks time, not to mind friday. more bad rain due too.

    waterford cobh in limerick perhaps?

Markets Field is also prone to waterlogging. Two Waterford games had to be cancelled this season (in March and July) for that reason.

Also, Waterford fans had to be evacuated from the stand at last years playoff final vs Galway when the stand started to fall apart - so can't see Markets Field being a runner.

Ferrycarraig is the only other option (other than a Dublin venue) that's won't involve a toss for home advantage I'd say.

What about Athlone Town stadium? All-weather pitch and modern 2000 seater stand should be enough for travelling Blues and Cobh's two men and a dog.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,166 ✭✭✭hardybuck

A good bit further away than the Dublin venues.

Agreed but I'm just thinking in terms of every grass pitch in the country is saturated with more heavy rain forecast, even the RSC cut up badly on Saturday.

Athlone's plastic pitch might be the job unless there's a decent ground with a plastic pitch nearer.

    Big Waterford Following travelling tomorrow..

Hopefully we get the job done.. Cobh will be no pushover.. We shouldn't need much motivation, knowing that victory tomorrow will give us a free shot at Cork Friday week.. All the pressure will be on them.

Good to see but Cobh have been throttling along nicely and having Fran Rockett in the management team has been a great asset

Cork getting a fare hammering tonight on the last day of the Premier. Some battle for 4th place now. Crazy how we were in a battle for Europe only 3 seasons ago (which we fucked up too)

Cobb have been going well, but if we turn up we beat them. .

BSC running 3 full buses down, should be a great turnout, Mon the Blues

As designated home team, do those of us not able to travel get local commentators on LOITV, or do we have to endure some biased Cork commentary?

    Late equaliser for Cobh

    Going to Extra time

  • Registered Users Posts: 728 ✭✭✭Dunmoreroader

Blues should have had it wrapped up before the equaliser.

Hopefully all the Waterford fans will travel on Friday.. It's live on TV, so I hope it doesn't deter supporters from travelling.. if ever we need a 12th man it'll be Friday Cork will bring a big crowd

If the tickets ever go on sale anyway yeah.

Does this happen in any other country? Match on Friday, heading to Tuesday and no tickets on sale yet
