If I was Rosemary I would be feeling extremely vindicated today. What a nasty crowd of mean girl wannabes. The event looked like your average debs. Not professional in the slightest. Am just waiting for grace to turn this into something all about her and how she is the victim again.

Grace should be absolutely ashamed of herself. I'm no fan of Rosemary Mc cabe, I find her beyond infuriating and very attention seeking, but the way vogue Williams and Grace whatsherface carried on last night was disgraceful. It reminds me of something that we would see in school, and would warrant a principal intervention ala mean girls if it did. She is a mother of a young girl. How would she feel if that was her daughter in years to come? Catty, bitchy, cliquey and extremely unlikeable. You'd think after currysgate, cowandgategate and the blatant cheek of her to go on radio to speak about transparency, she of all people should know what it feels like to be unpopular, so why act so nasty towards another woman? I'm disgusted with her to be honest, she should stick to staying at home taking pictures of her child, and keep her nasty mouth closed.

Oh my god she just turned all the comments off on her Insta post!!!!

Brands will be none the wiser about what a bully she is, she clearly doesn't see wrong if she's deleting & then turning off comments altogether.

    Ignore it Grace, very mature....

I hope you dosnt have friends going on snap chat to defend her like the time ali (her hairdresser friend) did when grace was cring over the breast fed article....

Back on topic of the gossies now.
More dumping on bloggers will get thread closed.

This is on the topic of the gossies though? People discussing Grace'S horrible behaviour. It's all over every platform that she can't delete from anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,060 ✭✭✭✭biko

    It's not.
Comments like this are not on topic and possibly slander.
    A) Not see right through her & her disingenuous (frankly illegal!) ways
    and
    B) Actually willing spend half their day indulging in Grace's unhealthy obsession with oversharing every mundane detail of her mundane life on SC!
Don't post in this thread until Monday.

Btw, before anyone gets ideas - I am not protecting Grace or anyone. I am protecting boards.

Why didnt muf go to the gossies, she hasnt referred to the gossies at all in the last 2 days.
I think you can see that serious bloggers like pippa and sosue are distancing themselves from the gossies over all the neg press its gotten....and holly carpenter and marrissa carter no where to be seen either.......id say these gave the gossies a bad rep in trying to defend the gossies with the twiter war with rosemary.
    Gossies no more...

What, no Marissa Carter? After all that #gettheboat drama? I'm very surprised at that!

Marissa is in New York think that's probably the only reason she wasn't in attendance!

Really think The gossies is more for the less established bloggers, I would imagine it's a good place for them to meet fellow bloggers and get their names out there so can see why the bigger ones didn't make a appearance.
MUF dodged a serious bullet not going as if she is trying to establish herself as a business woman it's not the place to be seen !
Rosemary has way too much intelligence to be associated with the farce that it was, I've seen better organised Debs !!

If that is the response you get when you speak out against something, and not even in a personal way, is it any wonder they make everything out to be so happy clappy amazing all the time. So cliquey.

Seems most top bloggers ie sue pippa mufairy avoided the awards. Seemed to be more snapchatters/influncers scene then anything. Defiantly highlighted the nasty side of the irish blogging/socail media stars. While i can why ali from goss took offence to rosemarys post to me it seemed like holly dublin gurlo vogue and faceabygrace were just being mean for the dake of it or to fit in with the cool gang ?
Also like the amount of people who won awards and wernt there.

There was a person who posted much earlier on this thread to say she was going to the gossies, I think she said that she was a blogger trying to network and make connections. Just wondering how you got on, did you feel you gained anything from attending in the end?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭Lollipop95

The presenter of the Gossies (same name as a fashion magazine) was asked to apologise for her behaviour on Twitter and she replied "bye like". The whole thing has descended into a farce. I don't know how old she is but I'm 22 and wouldn't dream of being so bitchy and childish. The presenter reminds me of one of those popular, bitchy girls at school

Literally was coming on here to ask the same question. How was it? I hope you enjoyed it.

    Delighted for Doireann!!

MUF just snapped and shes still in London. Very odd as she said she would be home yesterday in time for the "awards".

Wonder will Ali Ryan come on and say anything more about the Gossies after everything that happened this morning surrounding the awards itself?

Did anyone listen to the compere of the show taking about blogger conf? He got the date and name of it wrong. They were sponsors. Very awkward. I felt like when she was giving the intro to their sponsored award she was trying to distance herself from everything that happened last week.

Talking about what's gone on at the awards night isn't going off topic...

Why is it that threads involving bloggers get closed down so regularly?

You can pretty much say what you want about anybody else but these "infulencers" always appear to be off limits. It's a joke and frankly making the boards admin's look stupid when use come on and try find any reason to shut down the discussion.

Mod note - banned for arguing mod instructions on thread, PM me if you have questions

Omg people are actually disgusted with Grace and are commenting on her other pictures now since she has the comments off on the gossies one. Never thought I'd see the day that her followers would call her out. She can't escape this and will have to address it.
Also, someone commented this which I think is perfect, "this is a Meaghers sponsored post and you win best influencer sponsored by Meaghers. Coincidence I think not".

    Who videoed it?

As far as I know, it was a live video on facebook from Goss.ie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 647 ✭✭✭Terri26

There are more hits/views on this video than would have happened solely on Goss.ie page. Grace, Goss.ie and Vogue need to publicly comment on this issue and apologise. This is not a reality TV show, there are no pantomime villains so absolutely no excuse for that level of bitchiness. I'd even accept 'I'm sorry I made a stupid joke/off the cuff remark. I didn't mean anything by it and should have known better'. This silence has gone on too long, something needs to be said first as it's going to come across as disingenuous.

Grace's Facebook page is innudated with negative comments and reviews. Not a single comment in support of her behaviour.

I really wish she would just apologise and say she messed up. No good can come of thousands of comments berating her either. She is totally in the wrong but the only way to make it stop/help matters is a sincere Mea Culpa apology.

Grace replied to someone on twitter confirming that she has apologised.

This thread is hilarious! He said that she said that she didn't say that she said that she wrote that she tweeted and then she said she didn't say that!

Am i the only one who thinks that the comment at the gossies has been blown out of proportion. I watched the video and did I miss something because it was grace saying rosemary name in a hush voice which I took meant to be in reference to the controversy but I didn't think it to be bullying? Of course there would have been some reaction from the crowd given it was on social media recently. Did I miss something else.

In terms of vogue, she flew in from filming the jump. I've no doubt that her comments were from cue cards that Ali wrote and not her own words

Like I said it should be done publicly because she said it publicly. People are disgusted so it needs to be addressed. I'm assuming she's close to Aly and felt she was sticking up to a friend so she now needs to admit what she did was in bad taste.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,039 ✭✭✭✭retro:electro

People leaving Grace bad reviews on her Facebook page over the controversy. Omg I can't get over all of this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,094 ✭✭✭The Cool

I don't know what happened with Grace and cow and gate or currys? But she clearly didn't help her rep last night. Her comment was really catty but also, shame on the crowd booing at Rosemary's name.
If Vogues comment was scripted then all the worse and shame on the Goss.ie organisers. Here was an opportunity for them to be really classy in commending Rosemary just like all the other nominees despite her stance on the awards. It seems like a poor man's effort at producing something like the Glamour awards in the UK but the sheer lack of class means it will never be anywhere near on a par.
The Gossies mean nothing anyway, besides who can mobilise their following base to vote for them the most.

Nothing better like a good bitch fest to start another bitch fest. I think there is plenty of research to be made on mob mentality of the righteous.

I haven't posted before but I have been following this thread for a while and it's what caused me to unfollow Grace a while back - I'm not into beauty or fashion that much so didn't follow any of the other bloggers on any platform just grace on SC and Rosemary - it's because of this that I didn't realise when the things she were talking about were ads or sponsored and I think that is dangerous - it was more obvious to those who follow multiple bloggers and copped on to what she was doing - once I read here I realised she was disingenuous and not the girl next door I thought she was - her comment at the Gossies was unnecessary, she should have just ignored the whole thing.

I think the backlash is particularly bad after last nights events because people have had enough of her over the last while - she does not seem to be able to admit where she is wrong without pulling a major victim card as seen with the BF group and formula incidents, she has not admitted things such as the currygate incident and then looks like a hypocrite by talking about the importance of transparency and by mocking someone after talking out about being bullied.

However I feel this reflects very badly on Ali and Goss.ie - the last week has been totally bananas I think in terms of the reaction from her and her associates. she doused her twitter in 'positivity only' passive aggressive messages and then allowed that negative totally unnecessary bitchiness at her event. A true professional would have ignored the whole thing - it's embarrassing.

I get that RMcC isn't for everyone but I think the reaction this whole last week and that video last night vidicates exactly what she was saying.
