    That's very helpful alright!

Going roughly by those numbers then if 145 are in this panel, and they are up to 85 or so with placements for (mostly) Dublin, and you are number 26 for Dublin with a national ranking of 133 - that would suggest of the 48 people between position 85 and 133, that 26 have put Dublin as one of their choices.

And then the remaining 22 between those rankings must have chosen two regional counties and not Dublin.

Not sure why I've worked that out....must be a hangover from the numerical reasoning tests....

I'd love to know how many actual placements have been made up to number 85 and how many have been skipped over.

There may not have been a great necessity to work that out but I certainly enjoyed it!

My maths may be a*se-ways but that suggests to me that they're up to 107 on the open?! Which means those of us who thought we would be dribs and drabs may get a mail very soon??!!

I am no 107 on the open and as far as I know / thought there was 145 on the open panel. I also only have regional locations down so will be passed over with the dub offers so it will move fast up the panel id say. For Dublin offers at least. They are nearly at no 100 at this stage if they got room 94 last week I'd imagine if you take into account people that only have regions down.

Got the call from the Open panel at the start of the week (late 80's). Absolutely stunned how quickly the Dublin panel is moving. Thought it would slow down after 50 on the Open panel!!

Best of luck to those currently doing the interview this week. Looking at the movement on the panel, there's a massive incentive there for ye.

I have been told I am next for Dublin internal or open panels and for my other option louth. I was 61 internal, 96 open and 2 on louth regional. Best of luck to all.

Has anybody heard anything regarding confined DSP competition? Was speaking to hr last week and they said invitations to interview were imminent. I haven't heard anything and beginning to expect pfo e mail. Also anyone have any idea of numbers? Open and transparent civil service won't tell me that either.

No word yet. I was waiting on DSP internal news but irrelevant now as I've now been assigned to a different Dept.

    Congrats!

Just curious, are DSP appointing off the interD or Open panel whilst waiting for the internal comp? Or is the plan to only appoint from internal comp when it's up and running?

All depts have to have a ratio of 1:1:1

Do you think you will hold out for Louth?

Too risky. I commute to Dublin as it is. No way I would risk the promotion.

They haven't sent offer yet. They just told me I was next. So waiting to hear where.

I'm pretty sure I was part of stage 2 and I was only interviewed on Monday.

    Could be a while yet.

    They are still interviewing tomorrow.

For the first batch the results were out on the 4th working day after the interviews ended. On that basis, I'd say sit tight next Friday afternoon (June 9th) for an e-mail (in the best traditions of PAS!!!!). No specialist knowledge of this, just a guess.

With an increased number being interviewed and a bank holiday in between it might take a little longer... but no reason why results can't be published very quickly after interviews finish.

I am the same as Rosiebeans. 107 on Open but with two regional locations. Arggh. No 4 for one of them and No 1 for the other one where there is unlikely to ever be an offer. Apparently there are PO competitions going on in my first location in the two depts. there- so fingers crossed at least 4 vacancies will arise.

    Hi GorSin

Which two depts have PO comps?

Which two depts have PO comps?

I've been told Agriculture and Dept Housing Planning Community and Local Government. Don't know if they are internal or open.

Interview today - Don't think it went well.
Seemed to be very stop/start - no rhythm.
A lot of "What would you do if......." questions.
I wish they would have just stuck to my experience.

    Good luck to upcoming interviewees.

That's exactly how I found mine as well. I thought my examples were all strong but I just didn't get the time to go through them. Constant questions... and I know the questions are to direct me to certain areas that they want me to go in but I'm not taking it as a good sign that I was constantly interrupted!

Had one fairly strange question but apart from that it was all run of the mill with a huge focus on my experience of policy and straying away from service delivery examples.

I was exactly the same but I took it as a good sign that they probed so much because I felt it meant I had the right example and they just wanted to make sure I hit the mark. What was the strange question you got if you don't mind me asking?

Exactly my experience too, I guess we may have all been in front of the same panel. Never felt like I got to the real crux of any competency as they kept moving me along all the time and asking a question within the same competency that was another "what if" question that wasn't related at all to what we had just been talking about. Whole thing had no rhythm or structure and felt terribly rushed even tho it was 40 minutes.

When did you do you interview. 1st batch or 2nd batch?
