    Aaron Rodgers is phenomenal.

Good to see as there were whispers that he had lost it. He had gone through a sub-par couple of seasons but the last month has seen him as good as anything he has delivered in the past.

Unfortunately for him, he's going to Dallas next and that's going to be a big ask especially for the Packers defence who were very flattered by last night's scoreline.

The giants looked decidedly the better team until 27 minute mark to me. If they could have just held on to some of the eminently catchable balls coming their way they could have built up quite a lead.

Some cracking games coming up next weekend - only the Texans@Pats seems out of place.

    Seahawks @ Falcons
    Texans @ Patriots
    Steelers @ Chiefs
    Packers @ Cowboys

3 very good games there and a training session for the Patriots.

Just starting playing Final Fantasy XV. It doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game at all. I'm not a fan of the open world combat, it reminds me of FF 12 from the PS2 which I wasn't a big fan of.

    Weird start.

    Great middle.

    Strange end.

Not at all dissimilar to other ffs :p

I thought the old ff music on the car radio was a great touch

Falcons should have too much offensively for the Seahawks. Just too many options and the Seahawks are too hit and miss.

Steelers and Chiefs is going to be a massive game. If Roethlisberger can get a little time on the ball, I fancy the Steelers to snatch it. Bell is the best offensive player in the NFL over the past month. Unbelievable runner.

Cowboys to win after a bit of a scare. The Packers secondary is awful and they're going to have to commit men to the line to deal with the Cowboys offensive line and Elliott. Packers can only win if Prescott falls apart.

Packers caught a lucky break against the Giants with the Giants receivers dropping two certain TDs and a couple of other big yard plays, I think it would've swung the game the other way completely.

I can see Prescott and Elliot running riot against the Packers if they're on form. It all depends on how well their offensive line performs, as well as their defence, if they give Rodgers the time in the pocket he had against the Giants he'll be on form.

    F*ck American Football.

Basketball is where it's at. Or more precisely documentaries on American basketball

    Hoop Dreams. Brilliant film IMHO.

I'm sure you have done but you should go through the ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries. Multiple docs on the NBA (and NFL) some of which are excellent.

In a completely different tone, there's an American football documentary (without actually really concentrating on American football) that's worth checking out called The Marinovich Project (also 30 for 30) which is an examination of the nature vs nurture discussion. Essentially, a former NFL player and coach raised his son from the very moment he was born to be an elite NFL athlete right down stretching the major muscle groups whilst he was in his crib as an infant. It's fascinating to see how he progressed.

Agreed. Manning was let down badly by his receiving corps on the day. I don't know if the trip to Miami impacted on them but they certainly had their eye off the ball literally. They took to the field for their warm up shirtless in what I can only imagine was a show of machismo rubbish given it was -10C on the field.

Off The Ball last night had a discussion of Aaron Rodgers. He really is a phenomenal quarterback. His post season passer rating is 100 (regular season of 104). For contrast, Tom Brady's is 87. Brady is never the purest quarterback but for Rodgers to be that far ahead of the man most consider the greatest is incredible.

They also discussed his life outside of football. He's a very peculiar fellow.

Worth acknowledging that Beckham was a huge part of the reason they were even there in the first place but it has been a long time since I have seen that many TDs butchered by such poor missed catches. Giants could have been 14-0 up pretty easily with GB struggling to move the ball at all. Ending up going in at the half down 14-6 must have been such a sickening blow.

He's had a bit of a curate's egg of a season after taking a long time to get going. He's clearly ridiculously talented but he also fully knows that and is a touch in love with himself. The whole running 60 yards to propose to the kicking net was a tad self indulgent. He's young and a fantastic athlete but I'm not a massive fan of him. The reports of him damaging the dressing room after the loss suggests he has a lot of growing up to do still.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the end of next season when he comes off his rookie deal. It's going to take a lot of money to lock him down.

Sometimes I like to read his Twitter posts just for the bombastic insanity that oozes through them. It's also fun to guess which ones are posted by him and which are posted by his staff. From this week:

"FAKE NEWS - A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!"

"Dishonest media says Mexico won't be paying for the wall if they pay a little later so the wall can be built more quickly. Media is fake!"

"Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got "swamped" (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT. So much for being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary"

Panto season is running long this year.

Referring to it as "Goldengate" is building traction so maybe try that.

Just read it on my phone, it doesn't disappoint. This will amount to nothing, but just IMAGINE if the same story came out about Hillary.

It's the election cycle that just keeps giving. I'd be absolutely mortified and very ashamed if this was Ireland.

Big Swinging Micky D busted for paying foreign strippers to urinate where Mary McAleese slept.

It does seem a bit concerning in those terms.
