I'm assuming you have an Apple account and you're downloading from the App Store? I've never needed more than that. Never been asked for an iCloud login for apps or anything like that. I just set up my Apple account on iTunes and that was it. Admittedly that was years ago though. Have always found iOS on my phone and iPad to be a doddle.
I'm fairly certain it was the same setting up my OHs ipad mini last year.

This icloud thing might be new though.

I don't know the difference between apple accounts and icloud accounts but I had neither. I eventually managed to set up an account by downloading icloud for PC but when I tried to use it on the tablet it wouldn't let me do anything without entering credit card details.

Yeah that's about the only issue I have with it. You need to set up payment details to set up the account even if you've no interest in downloading anything but free apps. It's not the end of the world, but it is a bit annoying.

Question for the mods here. What's the story with deleting a users post, are their rules? Are you supposed to tell the poster why you deleted it?

I know the mods here tend to leave a note saying that a post/posts were removed and say why, is that optional?

Any mod. It looks like a post of mine in another section was removed but I wasn't told it was removed so I was just wondering if there were set rules around it.

FWIW I like the way the mods do it here where they leave a note saying something has been deleted and why

There can be a few reasons tbh. Abusive or illegal posts can be removed. Sometimes you get threads started by reregs and if they get banned their threads and associated posts can be removed. Your best bet would be to pm one of the mods of the relevant forum.

It's optional, and no onus to inform the user either. Sometimes it's done when a post is off topic and would drag a thread off topic, sometimes it's for abuse, sometimes it's to nip something in the bud before a flame war starts, sometimes a mod is being nice and removes a post rather than issue bans/infractions, most times it's for a breach of the charter and sometimes a post is potentially libellous and can't be permitted to remain. Maybe PM the mod(s) in the relevant forum if you believe it shouldn't have been removed.

Thanks for the info, that all seems reasonable just thought that mods would tell you if/why they removed your post.

Anyway it wasn't anything important so I doubt I'll bother following up on it

No its optional to tell users tbh. Generally its less hassle to let people know why

One of the best games of American Football I have ever seen.
The Rose Bowl. USC v Penn State.

Full game on youtube. If you have the time watch it.

I don't remember a year where is has been as quiet after Christmas as this one. I had to drop the kids this morning so didn't get to the M50 until 8am....it was quieter this morning than it was on the 23rd of December.

A lot of our suppliers are on skeleton staff and client site here has about 30% staff at most.

Things won't pick up until next week when everyone is back and the schools are open again.

Reverse our weather it's what they'll have.

The south island will be colder than here the north will be mild enough

They have a warmer climate in general, being about 10 degrees closer to the equator. We visited in March-April so getting into their autumn but had 25 degrees a lot of days, even on the South Island. Did see frost early one morning while fishing but by 11am I was in short sleeves again. Put it this way, I think I wore shorts every day of the trip, and I very rarely do that in Ireland...

Yep. I got awful sunburn one day in Abel Tasman national park. The sun is very strong in NZ or maybe the ozone layer is thinner but definitely wear sunscreen. I'll send you a PM with some recommendations on places to go

During the Lions tour? No. Before April, yeah. Have you convinced the wife to go on the Lions tour?

Ozone layer is non-existent so they don't sell sunscreen below SPF20 over there.

Nah not Lions tour, time of year doesn't suit us. We're talking in the next 3 months.

We were on the South Island in early May 08 and it was cold during the day and very cold at night. We were in a camper van and we ended up flying to Asia it got that bad. Could have just been a bad week though. Really want to get back there at some stage, preferably in the Summer months (Dec to Feb I think) for an extended holiday.

January, February and March are the hottest months generally. You'll get a tan. I'm very jealous thinking of all the places you'll be going.

Fantastic spot. Just get out of the cities. Hire a car and go off the beaten track. When you get to the south island, it's mind boggling how beautiful the surroundings are. Milford and Marlborough Sounds are spectacular.

Will be wet probably but relatively mild, I'd imagine in a few months it'll be grand but will be getting chilly by the time May arrives. I'd say you're fine in March but May would be hoodie and jeans.

I was there in October/November for 6 weeks. Plenty of sunshine and 20C+ days but also a good few 10-15C days. We went from the very top at the Bay of Islands and Northland down to Invercargill. Weather can vary significantly similar to ourselves but is warmer generally.

How long did you all visit for?

Lived there for 15 months or so and also went there for the 2011 rwc. Absolutely fabulous country. Some absolutely breathtaking scenery.

Personally think the South Island is where you should spend most of the time and use car hire or campervan. Super way to see the country.

A visit to Abel Tasman national park in the north west of South Island is a must and then a drive down the west coast passing the pancake rocks and onto the glaciers. Then down to wanaka and my favourite place ever of Queenstown. While there, get a day your to Milford sound or if your not stuck for cash get a heli tour.
