I dont agree with restricting freedom of speech like that simply because i dont like that point of view at all. Everyone is free to ignore and not read this if they so desire.
They are not giving it a platform they are providing a viewpoint of a different side to what most people would have.

Lived there for 15 months or so and also went there for the 2011 rwc. Absolutely fabulous country. Some absolutely breathtaking scenery.

Personally think the South Island is where you should spend most of the time and use car hire or campervan. Super way to see the country.

A visit to Abel Tasman national park in the north west of South Island is a must and then a drive down the west coast passing the pancake rocks and onto the glaciers. Then down to wanaka and my favourite place ever of Queenstown. While there, get a day your to Milford sound or if your not stuck for cash get a heli tour.

Fantastic spot. Just get out of the cities. Hire a car and go off the beaten track. When you get to the south island, it's mind boggling how beautiful the surroundings are. Milford and Marlborough Sounds are spectacular.

Will be wet probably but relatively mild, I'd imagine in a few months it'll be grand but will be getting chilly by the time May arrives. I'd say you're fine in March but May would be hoodie and jeans.

I was there in October/November for 6 weeks. Plenty of sunshine and 20C+ days but also a good few 10-15C days. We went from the very top at the Bay of Islands and Northland down to Invercargill. Weather can vary significantly similar to ourselves but is warmer generally.

We were on the South Island in early May 08 and it was cold during the day and very cold at night. We were in a camper van and we ended up flying to Asia it got that bad. Could have just been a bad week though. Really want to get back there at some stage, preferably in the Summer months (Dec to Feb I think) for an extended holiday.

Yep. I got awful sunburn one day in Abel Tasman national park. The sun is very strong in NZ or maybe the ozone layer is thinner but definitely wear sunscreen. I'll send you a PM with some recommendations on places to go

Go it's great! North island is more populated Wellington is a lovely city. Auckland is nice to. Then tour the south so much to do it's an extreme sports heaven.

I don't remember a year where is has been as quiet after Christmas as this one. I had to drop the kids this morning so didn't get to the M50 until 8am....it was quieter this morning than it was on the 23rd of December.

A lot of our suppliers are on skeleton staff and client site here has about 30% staff at most.

Things won't pick up until next week when everyone is back and the schools are open again.
