Could this Gob****e get elected ? He could push the button on a whim. He is an idiot but keeps winning states. Joking aside I would be worried if he won and was elected President of USA.

i think the hysteria surrounding donald trump as president is more embarrassing than donald trump actually being president

My bet is that he will be the Republican nominee (and then the college of electors will collectively **** themselves), but no chance will he win the election if he is the nominee. It'll be a gift to the Democratic candidate. I know a lot of people don't like Hillary Clinton, but there's a lot of Republicans who are as horrified at the concept of President Trump as your average Democrat.

I'd vote for him,he's great craic and I'd like too see him be elected.

Most republican members don't want him. Many of them would actually vote for Clinton before him as she, despite being on the opposite 'aisle' is closer to their neo-liberal globalisation minded ideals than Trump, who basically wants the US to be isolationist and sever ties with other countries.

Anytime I go onto reddit in the evening it's all about bernie sanders.
The comments are even more cringier than trump running. Some think bernie is be all and end all and this great white shining light that will guide them to the promised land of equality.

Some truly bizarre people out there

This pretty much. Hopefully all these people voting for Trump in the primaries are just hardcore Republicans that are a bit nuts. I do not think they make up for the general Republican vote in the US. We will see!

America is smarter than we think. All these Trump supporters the media is spending its time dribbling on about are just a vocal minority. I would put real money on Trump being slaughtered in the election.

The media has created a lot of hysteria over the past 15 years and Trump is appealing to the people who have bought in it. I would agree with posters who say he'll be the nominee but wont win in November. Not just his demeanor and policies, but the skeletons in his closet are too many.

It doesn't say much for the other Republican candidates that they couldn't put Trump in his place. Professional politicians should have been able to run circles around this guy in fairness.

If you can't beat a woman hating racist, you should get the hell out of politics.

Im just happy the current POS in the white house will be gone, forever.

The fact that we have enough idiots in this country that voted him into office (twice) means we’re doomed regardless

Haven’t had a president with any balls since Kennedy

The Republican establishment hate him. They don't view him as a Republican, he has supported both parties in the past. It's pathetic how beholden some folk are to their party in the States.

Trump appeals because he's selling himself as a man who will put the country ahead of any party affiliation. I see it as a protest vote, people are sick of the establishment. This is also why Sanders appeals to people.

Trump appeals to people who are poor and have no education, because he is able to demonise easy targets for them to blame for their problems, when the massive greed and inequality that Trump himself espouses is actually at the root of their problems.

    And that makes sense because??

I must of seen those video's of Hillary on skynews, oh actually I didn't.

Muammar Gaddafi held the country in check, in fact he was setting up a central African bank, dealing in gold Dinar, moving away from the petrol dollar, He was also setting up the united states of Africa,

I wonder why he was taken out!?
I remember now, I saw those reasons on skynews an CNN.

I agree with you, it was a terrible mistake taking out Gaddafi, it destabilised the entire north African region and led to the further growth of extremism. Just like usurping Hussein did in Iraq.

Gaddafi himself predicted that all this would happen.

The same ones who are scared of Trump will be elected are the same morons who acted like Obama was answer to all humanity's problems 8 years ago.

Obama tuned out to be Bush 2 and they turned a blind eye to it.

I've been living in the US for the last 5 years, and I have to disagree with this. Hillary is absolutely despised by a lot of Republicans, who will still go with their chosen candidate if she is the alternative. I've even heard a couple of Democrats say that they wont vote for her if Bernie is not selected as the nominee, and will abstain instead.

I still think she'll win against Trump, but not a landslide by any means

Trump may win the Republican nomination, but its a different order of things to win the overall election. Clinton beats Trump in the vast majority of polls by a significant margin. The worst case scenario is Sanders facing Trump as Trump a better chance in that matchup, but Sanders still consistently beats him in polling.

Ironically enough, Rubio consistently beats Clinton but the Republicans seem to want to nominate a loser to represent them over a likely winner.

Trump is a product of the Republican party meltdown. Sad seeing the party of Abraham Lincoln putting forward a charmless raving lunatic as their candidate, but they validated and encouraged the sort of deranged view of Obama and the Democrats as being an existential threat. If you are constantly getting hysterical about threats, dangers and evil plots by Obama then you pretty much rule out mainstream solutions: more of the same cannot work if the threats are so terrible and dire.

Hence Trump picks up the benefit because he is happy to propose bizarre, deranged and lunatic solutions that fit the imagined threats the Republicans have been trumpeting about. Plus the "establishment" candidates have sabotaged each other more than they have Trump - Christies attack on Rubio was aptly described as a political murder-suicide.

So Trump can be successful in the extremist world of the Republican party members/activists, but he will get absolutely destroyed in a wider election.

The problem the Republicans have is it will be at least 12 years for them to have a successful candidate. They wont even have an electable one if Trump gets nominated. Further indulging the extremist fringe and conspiracy theories will only destroy their party - but its very hard to see how they put the genie back in the bottle.

Trump , let me tell you , the guy looks like a cross between Benito Mussolini and Liberace gone wrong.
GWB was sad ,this guy is a loser with a big L as in LA .. large ass.

    +1,000,000

Trump may be an obnoxious, arrogant asshole but I would take him over Cruz any day.
Though that probably doesn't say much, as I'm struggling to think of anyone who I wouldn't prefer to Cruz as "leader of the free world".

I know it's almost impossible but I'd love to see Sanders win the Democratic race. Trump v Sanders would be an absolutely fascinating contest.

At least he can say it as it is with ISIS and admit there is a problem with radical Islam - unlike that coward Obama who pretends there is no problem.

Trump in office would be nothing like trump trying to get a party nomination. Had he not acted so extremist he wouldn't even be in the running. A billionaire businessman that most only knew from a TV show, he's played his campaign very well and those that think he's an idiot really don't understand what he has accomplished.
If he gets the nomination, he'll start toning it down, he'll backtrack like he already has started to do. What president has been able to do half or even quarter of his pre-election promises, so I'd dismiss 90% of what he has said already.
Trump in office won't be much different to Bush, only thing is trump hasn't a load of campaign benefactors to keep happy while in office like Bush did.

Yes, I can believe that story and the multiple articles and documentaries about it (and no, they are not all on Fox News and its ilk) and the book http://www.easons.com/P-2181497-gaddafis-harem.aspx

And I think it is a bit sick to choose not to believe that this went on, just to stick it to America.

I like Bernie Sanders. He is humane. Hilary Clinton is a bit non-descript. Trump however? He's a psychopath potentially getting access to one of the most influential positions in the world. He's a megolamaniac.

I don't get this "we" stuff. I did not vote for the Healy Raes as I do not live in south Kerry (although I have a lot of south Kerry relatives, who detest the Healy Raes) and people can criticise both the Healy Raes and Trump.
Nobody is being smug - just giving their opinion/observations.

Firstly, how is Trump an idiot? He is a billionaire. He is a very clever man.

Secondly, there is very very little between the likes of Trump, Obama, Mrs & Mr Clinton and Bush in terms of Economics. What sets Trump aside is that he is looking out for American workers and American based business. He is the only one that is bothered enough to change the lives of workers or people that want to work.

Obviously we as outsiders look at the American Presidental Election as a major factor of global conflicts but if you were a low to mid income worker in America or a small business owner, you would definitely be interested in what Trump has to say.
