    Not quite. My ex employer and my wife's employers always paid full wage during maternity, with no contribution from the state.

    My employer makes up the shortfall but I'm taxed on the full amount including the benefit .

    I don't think there are many companies out there now that will pay the full amount and not ask employees to have the social welfare contributions paid either to the company bank account or directly to the employee.

    Student of Illustration at the moment (ha I am aware of the lack of job prospects) but getting into graphic design, print, CAD and hoping to learn more on animation and web design if I have time.

    Girl gerbils have long eyelashes, obviously.

    (That's the way it works in cartoons and I learn most of my life lessons from cartoons)

    I work at a college as a janitor even though I feel like I'm smarter than most of the people who go there. Sometimes I see an equation written on a blackboard like half an equation and... I just figure it out.
