Conor is in Portugal with Kavanagh and some other teammates, saying it's week 1 of camp.

Is he visiting the camp of the fighter who died or anyone know why he's out there?

getting a tan before jetting off to Iceland!

Good to see him going back to what got him to the dance, training in Iceland on the grind with no distractions.

I'm half expecting to see him chopping trees and lifting carts full of rocks any day now.

    We're gonna need a montage.

Anyone know the thinking behind him starting camp so early compared to the usual 6 weeks?

    That's what I was thinking.

I imagine there's also an element of not wanting to leave anything to chance. As much as he put on a brave face, that defeat had to have stung badly. He's going maximum effort to do what he can to ensure he doesn't lose again.

6 weeks? Is 6 weeks normal? I though 10 to 12 weeks was normal.

Anywhere from 6-12 would be moral.
    194 was 8 weeks iirc.

Isn't there a much bigger chance of burn out and injury.

Could have sworn I heard him talk about fighters over training in the past.

I'd say personally he's is back to pre Aldo type camps probably admits now to himself that he got things wrong in the run up to Diaz 1.Coming on a year from redoing the cruciate supposedly in the run up to Mendez now if he's ever going to have full balance and strength to build his cardio by running etc again itl be now.
Pray to God we don't see that pool tube pulled out and we see the best possible McGregor at 170 pounds and be fit enough to try out box Nate and follow the blueprint of tearing his leg apart and out pointing him.
Whether he actually fights like that on the night remains to be seen tbh ofc.

He's usually referring to limiting his full contact sparring. 90% of injuries that force people to pull out are sustained in hard sparring sessions. If you eat a big shot and get wobbled it can't be good for the chin before going into a bout.

He can easily do a 10/12 week camp and use the extra time for conditioning, drills and light sparring/rolling.

He did see a man die in the cage just over a week ago. That would have had an affect on him. He's got more money than he needs, fame, a beautiful partner, family and his health. He's repeatedly said he wants kids.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is true and good luck to him if it is.

Would he even be able to? I mean, he's already booked for ufc 200, surely he has some contractual obligation to fight?

The funniest part is that people actually think he'd announce his retirement so casually on Twitter.

He'll announce it when he stops drawing millions per fight and not a moment sooner. Genuinely shocked that some people believe this.
