Ido seems to love being around all the buzz that is Conor & UFC. After the Thursday presser before UFC196 about 20 of us were stood outside the MGM because we seen security hanging about and someone said it was McGregors car parked up so he would be comign out that door. Well Conor did come out, took few photos, autographs, thanked us all before jumping in his car. Thats when I noticed Ido standing over to the side, we said hello to eachother when I walked past and he had a massive beaming smile watching everyone. After watching Conor's car pulling out I started walking away when Ido,Artem & few others came in a 4x4 and Ido was hanging out the passenger window and shouted thanks to us for waiting.

He looked fair bit more sombre after the fight though ;)

Someone on Reddit has wrote a transcript of Conor's corner during 196.
All comments are John, except where noted as "Owen:", etc

Looks like John/Owen identified at the time, exactly what people were saying afterwards. Loading up on the left too much, not enough leg kicks. That looks like pretty solid work from John.
Also, Ido isn't saying boo. His presence there is irrelevant, exactly as was said at the time. Yet people will still complain about him "cornering" Conor.

He was mimicking capoirea movements in the corner.

Capoirea? I thought you said he was providing the BJJ coaching

It's painfully obvious you don't actually believe the stuff are coming out with. Didn't you post about a blackbelt friend of your who just opened a BJJ school in North Dublin. Maybe a few BJJ classes yourself you open your eyes

the funny thing is, Marcus Brimage probably literally is right now...gotta make the $$$s somehow :pac::pac:

A little earlier I thought to myself, I hadn't heard anything of him in ages and went searching to find out he was cut from UFC and lost his 1 and only fight since for some South Korean promotion called Road FC(they've had a handful of ex UFC fighters fight)

This is pretty old in fairness not saying he has cleaned up with a handful of fights in the UFC since, but where was Conor living at the same time this video went out, parents wasn't it.

So i wouldn't be feeling sorry for the guy he could well have made a couple hundred k since this video and he is still relatively young with not much miles on the clock in fighting terms with plenty of earning potential still. If he can string together a few wins i could see him getting back in the UFC again in a couple years.

Aye, he'll be chasing that panty night soon I'd say, what with been conor's first competitor in the ufc!

That or a book, who could blame him!

Edit- just read he has a bachelor's in criminal law, mad.

Someone has informed me that they spotted Ido Portal sitting on some cardboard outside SBG in the rain. Eventually he started banging on the doors and begging to be allowed back inside but he was ignored. I think the Gardai came to move him on shortly after he started doing stretches in the car park.

    The guy is a lunatic.

Conor has improved so much in those 3 years. Fighting guys 5'4 in the FW division is obviously never going to look anything but impressive considering his natural advantages but you can see marked improvement in him when you look back at his old fights. As you would expect of course.

What's the average height of fighters in the fw division?

    Max holloway-5 11
    Dustin poirier-5 9
    Jose aldo-5 7

    What's this 5 4 you speak of?

Brimmage. Weirdest build ever, he was the smallest fighter Conor fought at FW but also the one with the longest reach, only an inch shorter then Conor.

Sorry I thought the poster was implying conor is always gonna look impressive as he is fighting 5 4 guys in fw given his size.

Ah, Brimage seems a nice guy. I always thought he came across as one of the more genuine fellas on the UFC roster from what we get to see.

The McGregor loss seemed to make him fall off a cliff even though he moved down to bantamweight after it. Up until then, he had been doing quite well at featherweight. He'd done reasonably well in a stacked TUF, then won 3 in a row including defeating Hettes who's pretty solid if nowhere near spectacular.

I think he could probably do with calling it a day now however. 2 big KO's in the space of a few months last year and the McGregor one too back in 2013 which he never recovered from.

Black people tend to have much longer arms than the rest of the worlds population, we'd be seeing more of those crazy scenarios of there were more black fighters. Kevin Lee is 5'9 and has a 77 inch reach which is the same as the HW champ Werdum! Which is just insane. Not to mention Jones having a bigger reach than Struve.

Hey just looking for a bit of advice. Apologies if it's off topic or wrong forum, maybe Mod can redirect me if so.

Heading to Dublin on July 9th for a concert and realized it clashes with UFC 200.

I know for past cards when Conor was fighting a few pubs showed the fight.
Can anybody recommend anywhere in the City Centre to see it?
Or should I wait and see nearer the time?

    Cheers guys.

Conor is in Portugal with Kavanagh and some other teammates, saying it's week 1 of camp.

Is he visiting the camp of the fighter who died or anyone know why he's out there?

So the gist of this article is that Faber is planning on holding up (:pac:) the BW division by beating Cruz in the title fight and immediately moving up to challenge McGregor for the FW belt.

    Conor v Faber @ 170 for UFC 205.

Conor will finally prove he is a true Welterweight and that weight doesn't matter.
