If a group of clowns attacked McGregor, I've no doubt he'd go for the juggler.

If he refuses to pay the NSAC, does that affect his licencing in other states? or can he tell them to take a walk, and never fight in Nevada again?

Commissions traditionally uphold a ban in one jurisdiction in all jurisdictions.

McGregor might be the exception. He brings tens, if not hundreds, of millions of revenue to a city for one of his fights.

NY could very well offer him a deal to fight exclusively at MSG and ignore whatever Nevada has to say.

In other words, no state in their right mind would turn down a McGregor UFC event - suspended or not in Nevada.

Gegard Mousasi says Conor threatened him with a knife over social media

    http://www.flocombat.com/article/47316-gegard-mousasi-says-conor-mcgregor-threatened-him-with-a-knife

Absolutely sad case if Conor is that insecure. Maybe he is cranky as he is cutting weight and is recovering from a broken nose and knockout?

Sounds like Mousasi is trying to make a fight happen. Good one...

Mous is trolling lol loving his new media personality some hilarious stuff around 204,anyone believes McGregor would sit at home sending private messages to a Middleweight needs their head checked.

I believe Mousasi on this one. Weird stuff. I would like to see the exact wording though as my guess is Conor said "i'd cut you open".

Rolling Stone interview re: the fine.

Toys, pram, again. If Dee IS pregnant how's he gonna cope with the baby getting more attention at home than him??

I wonder is Gegard Mousasi actually a fighter Conor really respects and rates?

It would explain his reaction. If it was someone like Max Holloway or Junior Dos Santos making the comments, i can't see him taking the trouble to send them a PM cursing them out of it.

I'd guess it hurt his pride that Mousasi seemed to imply that Conor is not a "real fighter" and just a mouth-piece. Granted, he clarified his comments today using the "English isn't my first language" defence :pac:

Gegard would stick Coner's face into the mat and have his way with him inside of a round and after having a very hard time with a puffed up light weight at 170 I doubt he has any false ideas of what a top 10 185lb fighter would do to him.

I don't think that Gegard is the type to make the story up, but I'd also question how many people have access to Conor's twitter account, it might not have even been Conor who sent him the message.

Mousasi would probably murder him as in, like, for real. Which is no criticism of Conor, just Gegard is a killer and a middleweight. Conor might be able to hang with some low-tier SBG middleweights but different kettle of fish the likes of Mousasi and Jacare.

From what i'm told, actually nobody has access to Conor's twitter. I've heard he controls his Instagram, Twitter and Facebook himself.

    Perplexing.

I really doubt they could run that story without getting a screenshot of the conversation from Mousasi and verifying it actually came from Conor himself.

There's been a suggestion that it wasn't even from Conor's Twitter, it was one of those parody accounts.

This thread sucks balls the last 2 weeks
    I'm unfollowing

Are there any posts on this entire site that are as whiny, pointless and attention seeking then these?

You want to unfollow a thread, unfollow, who else actually cares? Talk about being needy!

Since Conor has said he isn't going to pay the fine they have a work around to him getting licensed I imagine, could be as simple as the other athletic commissions not following the usual code of practise? Which would be pretty major in fairness.

If it was Brian Ortega refusing to pay a fine of $200, it's likely they would suspend him. It's likely all commissions would enforce the suspension.

That's more to do with lack of incentive for other commissions to over-rule Nevada.

With McGregor, other commissions have massive incentive to over-rule Nevada and license him. Economic studies have shown a McGregor fight leaves a 9-figure, $100 million+ footprint on the city he's fighting in. The bulk of 20,000 or more people flying in, hotels, shopping, boozing, eating.

That's plenty reason for NY and other states to disregard any suspension Nevada might issue. And, to be honest, Nevada are likely to fudge the issue in an attempt to get McGregor back to the city. They'll figure out a way not to suspend him without losing face.

The New York commission is affiliated with the ABC, the national body for the commissions. Which means they have a code of ethics that agrees to enforce each other's decisions. But Conor isn't actually banned, suspended or anything by NSAC. There's no reason (afaik) why they could license him under the understanding that his fine is outstanding. Sure he was licensed by the NSAC for 202 after the "incident".

But MMA in NYC is completely new so who knows??

Apparently not. Seems pretty stupid he's in a great spot to be able to talk his way into a money fight vs Conor and he doesn't have much time to do it really. I guess for any other fight he's likely to get booked for it hardly seems worthwhile paying the fine just to take a fight that will probably only pay around the same at best.

Luke Thomas just shared the Mousasi McGregor story surprised he would be posting that sort of thing.

if that story is true regarding mcgegor it confirms what many suspected, that is him being a glorified, pumped up thug from inner city Dublin. I hope for his sake it isn't true as he is a great role model for young irish kids and I would hate to see that sort of carry on glamorised. You'd see it from the kinihan crew, not SBG.

Even if something did happen its been blown up and exaggerated and probably doesn't help that Mousasis English isn't perfect. I'd say its nuttin.

He's not from inner city Dublin though, and what has the Dublin part got to do with it? if he was from Cork or whatever part of the country these many who suspected where from would it have been suspected he was thug to begin with

This thread and the mma forum in general has been the biggest source of everything mma for me since I got into it around the time Conor fought siver. I hadn't a clue about "cage fighting" before that but jasis Christ as much as it attracts newbies like me it also attracts people who hate stuff and go out of their way to tell you of their hatred, what is the point of it? I'm a massive United fan, I wouldn't dare go into the pool thread slating them as I would be banned for trolling, I know the mods have said plenty about freedom of opinion and all that but maybe this this should be relabeled the mcgreggor fan thread and it would cut out all the hate? Sorry for ranting but I don't get why anyone would post on a subject they have no love for

Michael Bisping has said on his podcast today that McGregor sent him some particularly nasty texts for picking Alvarez to beat him at UFC 205.

    Plot thickens.
