Makes sense. No harm for a fella to have something to fall back on as my father always said.

It's the McGregor thread and it's 6 weeks out from his fight. It's silly season.

What's he doing on a thread with only 6 weeks to go

    Should be in the gym.

I get that but posters speculating on in what order he and the girlfriend might like to get married and have kids is all a bit TV3.

    I agree
And it was me but it's better than trying to understand why people on an Irish mma forum are t delighted that he's getting preferential treatment
He said he'd take over and in fairness he has
Stringer or commandant you can't argue with that

I don't argue his ability at all, in fact I have more of a problem with a fair few of his fans then I do with the man himself :)

I can confirm my brother's father in law's mate saw him on the side of the motorway waiting for a lift at 7 in the morning.

My mate trained in Canada at bjj and he posted pics of him playing with gsp
So I sent him the vid of the Ivan buchanger fight saying " this lad wil fight he ain't lookin to hump you to death"
He laughed but now he s one of Conor's biggest fans. There are plenty of fight educated people who love Conor yo whole try to ignore the idiots and Leo the fact tat we have the GOAT

Highly transferable, too. There's a good head on them shoulders.

We're taking Alvarez too easily, as a forum. Instead of postulating about what McGregor will do after the Alvarez fight we should be concerned about whether or not he's spending enough time in the gym

Plenty of easy to talk to, knowledgeable, McGregor fans too. Wouldn't ever dream of lumping everybody into the same category, unlike some I could mention :D

Apparently not, been seen smoking joints, snorting lines, drinking beer (full fat beer) and hanging around the M50 at 7am.

    Doesn't seem focused imo

Conrad Mcmillionaire needs to fire all his coaches (bar Ido of course) and hire Billy Walsh, Jean Claude van Damme and Ronda for his camp. That'll refocus him in the right direction

Very true, and with economy picking up again he shouldn't be short of work either.

Just as well he didn't keep up being an electrician!

He was only 13 seconds in when he turned Jose Aldo's lights out!

I realise this will be an incredibly abstract and off topic question but the way this tread is I don't feel it will detract to much, is there a difference between a joiner and a carpenter? Or is carpenter just old school talk for joiner? I suppose Jesus was a joiner don't have the same ring to it!

I'd say Jesus was more of a leader, than a joiner.

On topic, if Conor keeps both belts, could we see a defence as early as March for the 145 belt?

Two halves of the one trade, "carpentry and joinery". Joinery is making pieces in a workshop (furniture, units etc), and carpentry is construction on site (joists, roofs, etc).

November is a long way away. :D
