Another article said they went in and pick their targets. Could roughly guess the targets, ei the three of them!!
I'd say this is a lot more accurate.

A certain inner city family not lying down and taking it anymore?

Oh I see what you mean now.

If its between the two families been mentioned there will be an absolute bloodbath in the coming weeks.

Someone here could post a link to a story about a flesh-eating virus rapidly spreading across Dublin, and the comments would still be about the quality of journalism in the piece, even though it's absolutely fine.

I've written lots and lots of news stories and omitting words such as 'of' and 'it' are par for the course sometimes. You could read the final piece 10 times and still miss it. They're especially excusable in a story like this, which has to be written at speed and updated every time a new bit of information comes to light.

It's also Friday so don't be surprised if the journalist here is dreaming about the weekend. You do the same in your job.

Aren't independent supposed to be one of the more respected news outlets in Ireland? Jesus, do we not aspire to have a good command of written English in this country anymore?

In all honesty, what's the mistake? I'm not seeing one. Maybe I've been reading tabloids for too long? O_o

I deleted the RTE News app from my phone when it beeped in the middle of the night to tell me that Robin Williams had died.

It scrolled across the screen so quickly that I thought it was Robbie Williams at first. And then my heart sank.

Huh, the RTE News App is basically like my mother so. If the alert went along the lines of "C'mere, I've just had an awful shock. You'll never guess who died. Do you remember Johnny Mac's sister. You met her that one time. You were seven. She was home on holidays. Anyway, it doesn't matter. She was married to a man from Leitrim. What was his name...I can't remember. But anyway, she watched a film one day and this man was in it and now he's dead. It's very sad.

Ah you do remember her. She had a red coat. Sure it doesn't matter anyway.

    Very sad altogether."

For better or worse, I can't delete the mammy app. :pac:

If that's the case there'll be an all out gang war on our hands.

    Downgraded to handguns...

"Breaking: Four hundred men in tanks, wearing full military attire, smashed through the hotel walls before indiscriminately launching rocket propelled grenades into the crowd. An ICBM armed with a nuclear tipped warhead was also found at the scene. More to follow..."

If they were going to embellish the story they could at least have gone all in.
