I was actually just looking at that ad a few mins ago :-)

I get that if I want full security I should be buying from an actual phone shop like Vodafone etc, just intrigued, as some of them are selling from brick & mortar shops in Dublin, offering receipts etc, with full positive feedback.

Think they're grey imports, looked at them when I was buying S7 but ended up buying elsewhere. Not certain if Samsung would fix under warranty in EU if it's an Asian version.

Edit: if it's the same ads I saw they state manufacturer warranty, as in the seller won't be helping you get it fixed...

Hi folks, I'm thinking of upgrading from the s5 to the s7 in a month or so, and have been checking prices.

Most used S7's are around the 400e mark, yet some sellers on adverts, with great feedback, are selling NEW s7's in packaging for around 420-430.

Are these phones legit do you think? Or could they be clones, or something like that?

    Thanks.

I'm in the opposite boat!! I'm going to put my new s7 for sale...I got it as an upgrade but I'm happy out with my s5 so the S7 is going.

I never checked adverts to see what they are making but I reckon at 400 they are a bit expensive? How much were they when new?

Interesting, never thought about grey imports, will need to look into that.

Looks like we've seen the same ads alright :o

I got an email from Meteor saying WiFi calling is now available. I'm on BTU and can't see an option for it. Anyone know of its possible to activate in BTU somehow?

I also got the 1st April security patch OTA yesterday which I thought I already received last week, bit strange... Maybe last one was for a different month.

There are some for lower than that too, just seems like the majority are nearer 400.
I'm not sure tbh how much they were new, but would be thinking around 700.

Edit: Out of curiosity, what network is your s7 on? :-)

It's on 3...I took it out, turned it on, had a bit of a play then put it back.in the box!! S5 got a software upgrade and it's flying along!!

Re: screen protectors a page or two back,

I bought a black cover-friendly glass protector from adverts for 10 euro posted and it's excellent. Fits perfectly with my otterbox commuter case too. I had a full glass protector one for a couple of hours last week and I had to take it off

Got mine from Adverts off one of those shops. 380 with 3 month shop warranty and whatever the usual Samsung warranty is. There was plastic on front and back, like new. Was tols it was a replacement from Samsung.

So far so good 2 weeks later!

I got this BTU update a few days ago and since then I've noticed that when I unlock the phone with my finger or code, the home screen appears with a very iPhone-like zoom effect. It didn't do that before.

I've just read it only works if your phone is locked Meteor, so won't work on unlocked phones. Disappointing as it works on unlocked iPhones

EE in the UK require you to use their firmware so I wouldn't be surprised if Meteor are the same.

Looking at this phone or the s8 . Is it showing any signs of slow down or would I be safe enough going with the s7edge . Can get it in bill for 50 compared to 250 for the s8.

Both look good . Would be keeping if for two years. Coming from a note 4

I love my standard S7, the only issue I have is the battery fluctuates between updates :/

Phone is locked to them so it's probably only available on Meteor firmware as karsini said.

Official Samsung fast charger for €4.99 (plus €2 shipping).
You can get the plug plus USB cable for a tenner.

    https://www.pigsback.com/en-ie/offer/310427/handtec

Took delivery of my fast charger yesterday. Ordered the charger only at €4.99 and €2 for shipping and lo and behold the package arrived with an iPhone charger and cable. There are a few iPhones in the house so it will come in handy

Not bad for €6.99 all in
    Result!! :D

Started using my S7, carefully, without a case. Such a lovely phone. How long it'll last now is another issue :/

I'm sure it's been asked already but are those chargers official/genuine? I could do with a few charges and it's a bargain at that price but don't want to put the house/kids at risk (overheating) with dodge or fake chargers. Is there anyway to know for sure? Thanks.

the model number is the model number for the official charger and the price is in line with the normal price. so probably official
