I think the key is probably screen brightness. Friday I had to go down to Limerick, I got 14 hours of pretty heavy use out of it. From browsing and messaging non stop on the train, hailoing, music, camera app in work, same on the way back.

6am I started, by 4pm on the train I had turned it on to medium battery save. It died at 8pm.

Looking to buy an edge once my current credit runs out. What are the disadvantages of going bill pay? Apart from 2 year contract is the phone restricted in anyway? I.e doesn't get updates?

Have ordered a spigen case for it but not sure if i need a screen protector. Anyone without one experience any scratches? Am usually very careful so it would just be scratches from pocket lint id be worried about. How does the screen hold up with a protector?

I has s6 edge and now s7 edge. Have never used a protector on either and not a mark on the screen.

I had a S7 since august and there wasn't a mark on it. Next thing I dropped it and cracked the screen. I claimed off my insurance and get a replacement 2 days later. I've had the replacement about 3/4 weeks and the amount of scratches and scrapes is incredible...I actually think its made from butter.

To make things worse I've a work S7 too which is still perfect after 6 months and the 2 phones are kept side by side at all times (in my pocket, in the car, on the desk) I reckon i got a refurb with a cheapo screen from the insurance company.

Not sure where to post this question but as it's an S7 i'm looking to purchase might as well add it to my other questions.

How are Carphone warehouse to deal with? Trying to figure out what the catch is, as in how do they make money? Is there any catch when it comes to returning items for repair or when it comes to upgrade time?

Has anyone got any good deals on SD cards recently?

Lads you're not convincing me on the S7.

I got one about a month ago and it's still in the wardrobe. I put it straight from the box into an otterbox defender case but the plastic protection screen doesn't feel right (feels loose).

Still rocking the S5 which I love to bits...changed the battery at Xmas and it's back as good as new.

Should I flog the S5 and start using the S7??

Change your google password straight away.

If you had Facebook, change your Facebook password.
If you had Dropbox, change your Dropbox password.
If you had Twitter.... etc. etc.

Check Android Device Manager on the web. If you have it set up, you can remotely wipe the phone.

Just catching up on this thread after a few weeks away. I noticed Mr E recommended Android Device Manager to help locate/wipe your phone.

I know it's too late for the guy who lost his phone but for anyone else, I would recommend Samsung's version (Find my mobile) which is also built into your phone (settings - lock screen & security - find my mobile) as it has a few more features - the most awesome feature being: it can locate your phone even if GPS/location services are turned off. If you lose your phone with GPS turned off, Android Device manager is useless - it can't enable it. Whereas Samsung findmymobile can enable it. It can also use google's location services (cell towers and wifi etc) if the GPS is a bit spotty. This sort of feature is usually only available if you root your phone.

Another nice feature is you can enable extreme battery saving mode to give yourself an extra few days to find the phone. I just tested it there at 67% battery and I got an extra 80 hours. Location tracking still works in extreme battery saving mode too.

Give it a go folks: https://findmymobile.samsung.com or at least don't forget about this option if you lose your phone.

Of course I still have android device manager enabled as a backup.

My main recommendation would be that you don't need one. The screen holds up really well over time with nothing on it.

If you really do want one, I found the Screenknight film one the best when I tried them when I first got the phone. You apply them wet so you don't get the bubbles and it makes it a lot easier to align.

I'm OCD with my phone screen so yep I need one haha. Might look them up so I was looking at spiegen curved one they are 20 euro for two but I think that might be a bit over the top even tho I usually get a year out of a good one.

The one Patww79 recommended is the one i have on both phones S7 edge and G5.
The screen protector fits perfect on the phone and if you buy the double pack it comes with the same type of protector for the back, your hand will stuck to the phone no more slipperiness.
but if you are going to put a cover on the S7 then prepare for to ignore your OCD as the cover will lift a couple of the edges of the protector, but its that or chance scratches on the screen, i learned to ignore the pilling

Does anyone have any issues with screen burn in on the S7 Edge?

I have just noticed that there are icons and screen burn (Google Maps in particular) on my screen.

I only noticed the images when I looked at a plain white screen.

I take it this is my fault and there is nothing that can be done under warranty.

I read a few complaints about burn in but all had their screens on far more than normal. Some had it on 24/7. Do you keep your phone on a lot?

Out of interest, can you post a photo showing the burn in?

Is anyone having WiFi issues recently with the S7 ?
I can connect to a network no problem...but no internet...or internet works for a minute or 2 and then stops completely. I've rebooted, turned WiFi off and on, forgotten networks and rejoined, cleared cache and still the same....but it doesn't happen at home....train, bus, hotel.... maddening.
Is it the recent update or a setting that I've activated in error?
Any help would be appreciated tnx

For those complaining about.battery, I'm getting 60hrs out of mine. Spotify most of the day, moderate browsing and camera. I'm sure it will degrade with time but that's pretty impressive.

Not sure if it.matters but I have uninstalled or disabled all the Google and Samsung bloatware. Also never install an app if it has a decent mobile website.
