    No point to this.

I don't like decent English Language songs being sung in Irish for no reason.

That goes for those gaeltacht kids too. Bah Humbug.

Am I the only person who couldn't give a toss about popular songs being turned into Irish?

No, there is something odd about it alright. Just doesn't seem right.

Could he not give them a voucher for an electrical store or something?

The vultures at the Toy Show audience get thousands of euro worth of goodies just for sitting through it.

He should have done a live segment from their houses or else recorded a piece from earlier today and showed the devestation proper.

    Just kidding, that wasn't good.

    I love the Irish language.

But I'm always really uncomfortable with this kind of nonsense.

Coolness as gaelige. Never really works.

It's cheaper to get a bunch of kids to sing them in Irish than hire a proper singer to sing them in English, I suppose.

Some of those houses you would need a good week to set them up and the cost would be the same as a small car.

No insurance!......Ah shure don't worry, the rest of us will pick up the bill!

There's no insurance since the floods of 2009. Since then there's been total inaction. Compare that with all the work done in Dublin on the Dodder since 2009 (just look at Ballsbridge) and you'll see where they spend the money.

The bogs have a lot to do with it. Drained to the limit, so they can't act as a sponge. Run off of loose peat blocks the rivers up. Simply blocking a lot of the bogs and trying to return them to what they were would do a lot.

Of course the likes of Michael Fitzmaurice TD and his buddys would be out with the pick axe handles ready to smash the machines of anyone who tries this. And so long as stuff like that goes on we have little hope of solving the situation.

Dredging and draining will work in some spots, but to an extent you're pushing water further downriver to Banagher, Portumna and Limerick.

As a poster said above, cleaning drains would do something but the personnel and money isn't there.

I will have the notepad out after the show to get something going, better than any pension scheme. I'd be hoping to get something up around number 9.
