Woeful performance and tactics. Power offers nothing different to Kearns. Aul tippy-tappy nonsense. Fluting around their 45. Sweeney starved of ball. Dont mind him lads he is only one of the most lethal finishers in the game why would we give him a ball? Defence asleep for two goals. Only Bill Maher looks anyway urgent

Only in the door a while and saw the second Limerick goal. What kind of defending allowed such time and space close to goals? Very poor stuff.

It's one thing not being direct (and they absolutely should be looking to find the inside forwards quickly when it's on), but when they're working the ball around they routinely are declining good shooting opportunities or playing the ball to a man in space in favour of continuing to work the ball around in a congested area and taking on a shot when the chance is gone.

That alone would be a big problem, but how porous the defence is, is even worse. To conceade to goals like that is just not acceptable at this level, completely switched off.
They'll now have to find a few goals themselves or they'll be out of the Championship !

We're ****e. One dimensional stuff, badly coached. Unbelievable naivety and absolutely no structure. No cohesion whatsoever. To think we had aspirations of division 1 not so long ago.....We are lucky we are not propping up Division 4 with this garbage. Barely scraped past mighty Leitrim.

Surely Tipp will mount some sort of a revival in the second half. I'm not writing off a Tipp win just yet!

If we only showed a little bit more urgency. Bill Maher is the only one who is on his bike when he gets a ball. President in the middle of the park is having a stinker. Its no wonder Sweeney was considering packing it in. Living off scraps up there.

Much better from Tipp. Winning quite a few scoreable frees.

More like it. A totally different team in the second half.

Water break came at the wrong time or gone back into the shell since going ahead. Need to sharpen up again.

Tipp did all the hard work in reeling Limerick in and drawing level. Had all the momentum and the breeze but fell asleep for 20 minutes. Lucky to get a last gasp draw in the end.

Desperate lucky, but when the chips are doing the real top players come to the fore. Why are we starving such a lethal forward of ball? He'd make the Dublin or Kerry team. He's that good

Water breaks really break the momentum. Should be gotten rid of, surely they can go 35 minutes without water.

As you cant be bringing on water at other parts of the game like normal they need to be kept. They dont really break much momentum.

No need for water breaks. Pure nonsense. The sooner they get rid of this the better.

Its solely because of covid and you cant have people sharing bottles etc which means you cant have people going round giving water or whatever else like normal
It will be got rid of when things are close to back to normal.

Boland had got a couple of scores, but he's very greedy.
Has turned over ball several times trying to hold on to it when a simple pass to advance the play was on.

Lucky not to conceade a goal there.

I cannot believe he has missed that. Wow. Wouldnt have been able for penalties.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Delighted that Tipp won but how naieve was that defending again with the last play of the game to allow a Limerick man so much space to make a mark? Hard to fathom. Nice to get to a Munster final but this is not the Tipp team of a few years ago and i can see Kerry putting 20 points on them in the final but lets worry about that another day. It's a good achievement for Tipp to get to a Munster final.

An easy mark given away and blessed he missed.

I thought it was apt Brian Fox got the winning point.
His introduction at half time made a big difference, it plugged the gaps in out defence and prevented anymore cross field balls (like the one that created Limerick's second goal).
He was as usual very assured in possession and helped us work the ball out with some purpose and reduced us funneling ourselves in to blind alleys.

Credit to Robbie Kiely aswell for the bursting run and kick which leveled the game.

As for Sweeney, what can you say. We'd be ****ed without him.

I'm quietly confident that we will be very competitive in the final, regardless of who we play.

I hope they are. Nice boost for the county anyway.

We are in a Munster final almost 100 years on from Bloody Sunday. 100 years and a day.

Conor Sweeney's wonder point from the sideline deep into injury time was every bit as good if not better than Maurice Fitzgerald's score against Dublin in Thurles in 2001.

A score to inspire future generations.

Brilliant brilliant score. Not sure which one is better.
Fitzgerald had some assistance from the wind, but put it over the black spot.
