With the announcement that BDGP will go ahead in 2021, do ye think we will be stuck with the same reference number or is there a chance it could be updated to current numbers?

When was it announced? Is it a roll over year from the previous one sort of?

I'd say they'll stick with the same reference number and you'll have to have 60% 4/5 star animals for next year but sure who knows.

That looks like the terms and conditions for the BDGP 2 scheme which started in 2017. Most people are finished BDGP 1 now and the t's and c's for the rollover for next year haven't been announced yet afaik

Enquired from DAFM Portlaoise about the new scheme. The Dept will be writing to us participants currently in BDGP 1 to ask us are we interested in joining BDGP 3 for one year.

It was announced in the budget and confirmed by the EU this week, i'd imagine there'll be details for next year soon.

Probably late for a lot of farmers who may have sold their stock bull and surplus star heifers, be a smaller uptake no doubt.

Money in agfood here too. Reduction of 30e for missing surveys. Went to check what I was missing as had them all done. Sold a cow last week and hadn't filled in dam departure so guess it was for that - madness.

I'd ring them. We sold a few cows. I assumed the scheme finished in October and didnt fill in why they went. Last weeks sales shouldn't affect it. No penalty on ours

What you're usually told is that BDGP is paid in a phased way, not everyone is paid on the same date.

Nothing for me yet. Not worried though it will come.

What format will the rollover take? Will we need to hit 50% females at 4 or 5 stars for October 31st 2022?
