    Bandon.

I am assuming that is the river rather than a street!!

Wow. I thought it was starting to crest hours ago and forgot to check back on it. That's the highest since 2009 there.

The whole of the Bandon valley area is badly affected. Lots of roads closed and people can't leave their homes. Here in Dunmanway, the council has been pumping out the drains to stop flooding . This was in my street

Something must be brewing as there is sudden surge in wind speed here the last minute or two, sounds just plain nasty out there now.

Not raining here in West Clare, only mist.

    Edit:
Looking at Met Eireanns rainfall radar, small tiny west clare shaped break in the rain, won't last long.

Just as I type it begins to rain again.

Pouring rain in north Kerry now

Second highest water level at Bandon since October 1975. It's currently 0.2m below the 1975 level.

2009 the highest of recent times.

My stations record (in Galway City) for daily rainfall has been broken
Total since midnight now stands at 63.0mm, previous record was 62.0mm in Nov 2009

Met Eireann's 3 hour and short range rainfall forecast makes for some scary viewing..Would I be right in saying the worst/heaviest rain is still ahead?

Rain totals in the west/norhwest to get a final boost in the coming hours?

Looking at it, Clare will miss the bulk.

Rain will have stopped by around 4-5am. Though I'd imagine a lot of the roads in the west will still be fairly whett at 10am.

Lots of flood reports coming in tonight.
Plenty more to come down from the hills and mountains over next 48hours.
Tomorrow might be dry but the damage already done

Wonder what about the dam in cork
Will be under pressure in coming days.
All very 2009 like and we all know the Winter that followed

The calm before the next deluge.

Like other posters have said it should be ok weather wise. Allow yourself more time on the journey though. I'm up west this weekend and traffic hasn't been doing more than 80kph with all the surface water which I'd imagine will still be around tomorrow!

There will be some further rain tomorrow, mainly for the southwest and west again. Should start to push into the southwest around 6pm.
