    Where??

    Probably Abbeyfeale! :D

No snow here but it's cold and breezy and just 3.6C; some recent showers - could be some snow up in the mountains but today is too hectic to go looking...

Clear and sunny between the showers, nice seasonal day.

Eva was a disappointment wind-wise but she did deposit nearly 10mm last night and this morning.

Have to say this cold makes it feel much more Christmasy!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,634 ✭✭✭✭Graces7

Just before darkness last evening, watched a huge golden moon arising from the westerly mountains with a smile on its ancient face. A calm, still, frosty Christmas Eve night and a peace and rightness in it all. Perfect as they say here in Kerry. A blessed calm before the weather today!

The respite is over; wild wind and deluges. Closed curtains ! Time to be indoors and off the roads. Just checked Kerry coco twitter and there were roads nearby flooded by Eva. Today will add to that. Never used twitter before Desmond ; great facility if you are travelling as is AA roadwatch twitter. Detailled up to date news and advice

Miserable dank wet morning. I hate winter. Roll on the spring and summer where at least its brighter even if it's just as wet and nearly as cold.

No offence but What's mysterious about the rain? Or cosy or snug?. Lets call it what it is weather wise another horrible day.

Not offended but sad that you cannot see this. No day is "horrible".. all in the eye of the beholder..Not horrible... wet and wild and has its own beauty. Up here anyways...

We are on the northern edge of this rain belt so are getting some dry periods followed by wet as the wave ripples. Heading towards a new monthly rainfall record here as the previous 173mm record looks likely to fall.

    Some rain alright!

    My rainfall totals

    Christmas Day: 21.2mm
St. Stephen's Day so far: 12.7mm

I had my wettest Christmas Day since my records began in 1986. It is also confirmed that this December is already my wettest on record with 174.6mm up to 13:00 on Dec 26th. With more days of rain to come, I could be in for my wettest month on record! I can't believe that my sunshine now is exactly average at 100% of the LTA - unbelievable!

So far this December I have recorded 11 dull days - almost as high as my record of 15 in 2013. It is not looking any sunnier the next few days, so I expect more dull days and my percentage of LTA sunshine to stay exactly average.
