Not new but AGP, LPA and TFS return year round ex Cork, all one weekly except Malaga which is twice weekly.

TFS may of operated last winter but other two didn't.

AGP, LPA and TFS all operated last winter.

    AGP- 2weekly
    LPA- 1weekly
    TFS- 2weekly

AGP was at 3pw but was cut last winter.

    Oh, you didn't specify that.

AGP going year round is quite interesting.

TFS also didn't run last winter. The only sun route FR ran was ACE.

AGP no doubt a response to EI announcing 4x AGP flights for the winter on Thursday

EI will win with Thur/Fri/Sun schedule. They have dropped TFS back to weekly and moved it to ACE also.

AGP has a very confusing schedule with Aer Lingus

    31st October to 13th November=4pw
    13th November to 27th November=3pw
    27th November to 23rd December =2pw
    26th December to 8th January =4pw
    9th January to 12th February = 2pw
    12th February to 26th February=3pw
    26th February onwards =4pw

Nothing new with Aer Lingus typical across network, responding to changes in demand over the season and keep losses down.

    I don't,

I can see a serious erosion of crews work conditions here! I had hoped that the FAA would request NAI tighten up their labour conditions before they allowed the cork services.

Anyway good for the airport. Will be interesting to see the new livery at the airport (and how the services does in Winter with the strong Atlantic headwinds)!

Fair enough, I hadn't really considered the crew work conditions. I just hope that Cork airport can reverse the trend in passenger numbers.

It already has, with or without Norwegian.

Will the Norwegian route to Boston be direct? Or via Oslo?

I would be surprised if it goes ahead, I suspect now that they have their licence they may look elsewhere. Hope I'm wrong but just never trusted their intentions.

They already have one for SNN AFAIK but if Cork won't do them can't see the point of the excercise.

The license was for all routes to USA with the Irish subsidiary, not just Cork.

The route is Barcelona - Cork - Boston.

They're going to operate under the same legal requirements as Aer Lingus and Ryanair do. I don't think either of them are known for being particularly good to their crew these days!

Irish employment law and IAA regulations, so yes.

I guess the issue is they are using "flags of convenience"! They operate an airline that is made up of several seperate companies based in Ireland , Britain and Scandic countries as it is! They employ crew from the UK, Norway, the US and Thailand to name a few countries, crew are hired remotely through an agency.....
Overall it's a very strange set up to me and it's looks messy and complicated if I'm honest, but there is obviously method to their madness, and I'm sure it's benefitting them somehow, somewhere along the line, I know they use Thai crew to operate some UK - US flights and UK crew to operate some Scandic flights, Spanish crew are kept on a constant rolling 6 month contract, it's all very dodge if you ask me

Has it? 2015 was down on 2014. Growth flat so far this year. More seats this summer though, so should be higher.

Yeah I think you're correct, think I remember reading somewhere that Corks 2015 pax figures slumped by nearly 10% to those of 2014 but it has seen a rise in this years January figures by 6% and is expecting a full year growth of 8%

    Jam-Mar +10% (40,000+).

    2014/2015 change was (-3.4% or 60,000).

Growth up since November when Cityjet introduced their LCY service. Since March we have another based Stobart aircraft allowing SOU (5pw) and LBA (2pw) to be introduced, and several other routes increased in capacity.

More routes and capacity increases from Aer Lingus, Iberia and Cityjet.

Read the first page of this thread, where I have a comprehensive list of all capacity increases and new routes listed. (Stobart not included as it was not announced)

And you have the ryanair announcements too for the winter service this year. So things are picking up a bit for cork airport. If only there were a few more european city destinations. There is also potential for that madrid service to be extended a bit longer.
