I see the Nutri Ninja is also 77 now, its more powerful than the standard bullet (900 vs 600 watts).
Not sure I'd use either but everyone seems to be talking about them so I almost feel obliged to get one or other and sure at these prices I'd be mad not to. There's even a space beside my old unused smoothy maker for it too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,517 ✭✭✭Sunny Dayz

I have FOMO cos I don't have a nutribullet. :( I bought a cheap value-price blender from Argos when we moved into our house - it has not left the box, I don't fancy all the putting together and cleaning just to make one smoothie.
But is the nutribullet easy to use? And does it make enough to do one or two people as I don't want to make enough smoothies to feed 10 people.
Edit - what's the difference between a nutri bullet and a ninja?
    Sorry if I'm going OT

I have a nutribullet and the RRP in BT was 120 when I got it about a month ago. It's great, easy to use. Just throw whatever you want in and it'll blend it. Enough for 1 or 2 people (I think the big container is about 750ml, so I'll let you decide how many that would do, there is a smaller one if that's too big also).

I'd definitely recommend it over a cheaper alternative one. I had one that cost about 30 and looked very similar but broke down with less than a month of us.

    I got one at around the €120 mark in Heaton's and I think it's great...especially at €82.99!

Is their a difference between the graphite and red 1 besides the colour?

It really is fantastic, I previously had both a juicer and smoothie maker and they both ended up going unused after a week due to how much trouble they were to use and clean.

I've had the Nutribullet almost a year now and use it at least 5 days a week!

It really is super easy to use and clean. Throw food in (might need to slice first depending what your are putting in, Apples for instance), blend for 30 seconds, simply rinse out two parts. No more then 5 minutes total!

It is amazing how simplifying things can make such a difference!

You can make a smoothie for one or two people as it comes with two different sized containers, a big two person one (or to make a big smoothie that you might leave in the fridge to have half later that day) and a smaller size for just one person.

Do carrots do well in it or stay chunky?
I want one so much but I can't get to an Argos this week :(

They blend well and add some sweetness to it as well. That recipe has a slight bit of roughage that sits at the top of the drink but it's easy to drink, although you might have to hold your nose the first few times before you get used to it :p

Cheers OP, just reserved one for collection. I actually passed them the other day in Debenhams and thought I must actually check around and see are they reduced anywhere. Completely forgot til I saw this thread :)

If you can find one in a store that is order able (as opposed to in stock), it should be kept til next week

I wonder whats next considering they are clearing out all these, maybe that V8 one from top gear

Noticed it doesnt come with any mugs etc. Would I use them? Do you use them if you have them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 478 ✭✭booooonzo

    just got the ninja,

10er cheaper and apparently blends a bit better with 900w motor.
also the cups fit in drinks holders better and are nicer to drink out of with no threads on the top of them.

feck all in the difference really though, bullet looks better if that bothers you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭Chocolate girl

I've just reserved the ninja thanks😀

Question: when using the version of the ninja on sale do you have to hold down the container when it blends? Think then the auto iq version you don't?

Lots of the Ninja in stock - http://www.checkargos.com/?search=379/6586
This review says the Ninja might be a better choice
Anyone here tried both and got a recommendation ?

Hmm, this Breville Blend-Active Personal Blender Family Pack gets better reviews on Amazon than either and is a good bit cheaper.

I think they are all the same and the only reason the nutribullet is reduced is to compete with the cheaper ones available now. I have the nutribullet by the way.

Easy receipe for protein rich pancakes for breakfast or snacking.

    3 full eggs
    3 egg whites
    45g Oats
    50g Natural Yogurt
50g whey protein powder (I use vanilla).

Blend together and fry for yummy pancakes. Too with some peanut butter and banana and you have a well balanced breakfast or snack for any time during the day :)

I use one of those one egg pans and get about 9 pancakes from that mix. Each one is 76 calories, 3G fat, 4g carbs, 8g protein before you add anything to them.

Yes, you have to hold down the container.

Any recommendations on where to buy ingredients for it?

I got some stuff in Aldi (both fresh fruit/veg and frozen fruit) and seemed decent enough value

Warnings on the frozen fruit these days so be careful.... Personally love the stuff but chances of getting Hep A from some of it...

ALDI don't have the warnings on the Fruit and have a decent selection, and I find Dunnes pretty good for the frozen blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.
