Sorry to hijack the thread but any ideas for a gift for my boss - 50 something modern woman? She likes her labels but my budget isn't huge. There's some great ideas on this thread. Thx

It's a how long is a piece of string type question really. You say she is into labels, do you mean clothes, shoes, bags, perfume etc? You'd pick up a small bottle of perfume handy enough but then again, perfume is a very personal preference so it's kind of a minefield unless you know which ones she likes. Is she into anything else that you know of? Jewellery, stationary, quirky bits and pieces? What budget had you in mind?

Bottle of wine or champagne. Most shops have them on offer at moment. The one that springs to mind is Supervalu pierre darcys was 46 euro now 23. Safest bet. It's a great offer on a good bottle of costly bubbly. As mentioned already designer can cover anything and she you could pay a few hundred for a designer bag :)

I was thinking of the Clint Eastwood collection for my auld fella but I missed the offer on amazon :(

Have you tried xtra vision for the Clint boxset? They have some offers on with free delivery over 25 or 30 euro I think ?

Thx Mrspostman. Budget small, under €30. I was thinking maybe scarf, gloves type thing. I got her a gift set wine bottles last year. I was wondering could I pick up something oral kiely or some such label - and I live in rural Ireland, so no shop access to Dublin department stores. It was just a thought, maybe if someone came across something they might post it, thx.

Welp, it's the 9th and I've no Christmas shopping done. Time to do an online panic spree of ill-suited gifts

I bought the Christmas RTE Guide. Looking forward to seeing what films, that I have probably seen a hundred times before, I will circle to watch over Christmas.

My two favourite things to do with the Rte Guide, is circle the shows I want to and ultimately end up not watching and starting the crossword, get frustrated by it, leave it a few days and come back to it, get another few answers and so on...

    It's a Christmas Tradition haha.

Another box of baubles, the trees looked too bare! On the way out I spotted a gorgeous red lace prom dress perfect for the day, so decided to treat myself

Also ordered some more "My busy books" for the kids, that's at least 30 mins of silence worth!

Brought back the tree lights I bought in Dunnes on Monday for €15 (150 lights) and bought more than double the number of lights in Home Store & more for €20. AND they have different functions on them rather than just static. I can't wait to get them out of the box and onto the tree :D
Also got a few gifts, nothing to get too excited about though. Much more shopping is required!

for his new study - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/000749310X/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item

My mam told me m&s had a sale on cava, 25% off when you buy 6. So in I go, pick up my bottles, scan through, no discount. Nightmare, not applicable to those bottles. Was committed to the purchase then, so went ahead with it. I hate when that happens.

I bought soooo much today. Decorations are reduced so much in a lot of the shops now I couldn't resist. In Homestore and More I bought a string of star lights, a string of retro lantern fairy lights, several paint your own decorating kits, a bell to call Santa for S's xmas eve box and a Santa toilet seat cover. And in B&Q I bought a large pop up penguin and berry tree - both are light up decorations for the garden.

    I know, same here.
I bought this huge set of 50 baubles yesterday just cuz they were massively reduced!

My poor tree now has to put up with loads of extra decorations.

The alcohol shop, have enough wine to last at least the week! Food shop tomorrow and then we're done

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,737 ✭✭✭Glitzgirl

Sunday was the first day in what seems like forever that I was able to go look around the shops by myself ! I went a bit mad in fairness. Woodies had 70% off so I got a reindeer cookie jar, a little ceramic bucket with a handle that says reindeer treats and some artifical Christmas plants and most importantly some houses and a ferris that light up and play music for a santa village. Every year I say ill pick up some and I dont. Looked at the receipt and I goods totalled at 178€ for 47€ so happy days here ! :)

Got myself some Christmas socks in M&S. They were €5.50 in the shop, not €8.
