These guys are just pouring the putts in. Need to make hay while the conditions are like this.

I think YR are definitely off on the winds and to a lesser extent rain. From looking at the charts on Netweather, it looks like

Thursday am: Light winds sub 10mph, no rain
Thursday pm: Winds strengthening to 20+mph with light rain

Friday am: Strong winds up to 30mph at times with heavy rain
Friday pm: Very strong winds with gusts near 40mph towards evening but less rain post lunch

Winds now not looking as severe for Friday- will probably stay in the 30's mph max.

Tiger mis-hits his tee shot.... leaves about a wedge into the 1st green then proceeds to come up woefully short into the drink. Ouch.

    Speith looking ominous already

Looks like another birdie opportunity coming up for Spieth... he is gonna tear this place up in these conditions. Will be different tomorrow though.

Anyone else think Tiger has chunk ed the 4 iron shots he's played?

Basically every full shot he has hit has been a chunk. And from this turf too. Very weird to watch.

Lowry has steadied the ship, 3 birdies in 4 holes, Dunne is going along nicely aswell, 3 under for the day through 15.

Tis a strange feeling watching a major and being able to go check one of the competitor's handicaps on Howdidido. :D +5 for anyone wondering.

Wonder what the true par of the course is today. I know it is a par 72 but looking at the scoring 70 or even 69 seems more like the true par.

Great comeback from Shane after his poor start. Hopefully can keep the upward curve going till the finish of the round.

Tom Watson going along nicely as usual.

Good post round interview with Paul Dunne on Open Radio.

I love this app/coverage, the descriptions given by those on course commentators are spot on..really don't feel like I am missing too much at work.

Lowry just had a dreaded snowman on the 17th to undo all his good work to get to 3 under. Back to 1 over now..

Is that the Radio 5 Live coverage? Can't seem to get it to work. Keeps saying 'stream is unavailable' Is it Geo blocked?

What a disaster of a finish from Lowry to undone the superb work he did to get back from +2.

Now all aboard the paddy train

18 players on -3 or better already, including 5 on -6. If the wind was to pick up this afternoon, the late starters could find themselves with a mountain to climb after round 1.

Brilliant to see Dunne's name up there with the 3 unders.
