As for this Faber stuff - Faber has always been a fan favourite, comes across as a decent guy and is a very exciting fighter, well worth watching his stuff too. He looked like he was just playing around their and of course he's always going to back his teammate hence his talk over the recent weeks.

Thats completely subjective and down to opinion really. Personally I cant stand Faber, think hes a complete knob and dont find him very exciting and have been watching MMA for a long time. Wouldnt have him anywhere near my list of fav fighters. The thing with Conor and Faber is non existant though and doesnt deserve half the time or discussion its getting online anyways.

Rehydrate, fluids, water weight and a big slap up dinner!

His body was dehydrated and he are little or nothing for the past few days. Once he rehydrates his weight will come back

It's mostly fluid that you cut before a weigh in. The key now is who can rehydrate better.

As far as the weight cutting goes, he seems to be cutting even more than Barao does, and most of us here know how that panned out for Barao not too long ago. The same result is pretty much inevitable for Conor if he stays in the division. Every time he does this cut he's doing potentially serious long term damage to his body, dehydration is brutal on your organs.

Hope to see him come through this fight tonight with the finish, beat Aldo in November, win the rematch at Croker next summer, then move up to LW and straight into the title match with RDA (who I'm sure will still be champ at that point).

If Conor loses tonight, how long before this forum becomes bearable again?

Over/under is currently set at 1.5 months.

If he loses the whole MMA forum should be suspended for half a decade anyway.

With Dana burning bridges with Aldo, and this fight being for an interim title, does anyone else think that Aldo might be retiring as previously rumoured?

I can't make sense of Dana undermining him as a champion, if there's potentially a huge unification fight in the offing.

I think it may have been to justify creating an interim title; the idea that Aldo has pulled out of five fights and so on. Normally interim titles are only created if the champion is out for a much longer period of time. Indeed, Aldo complained about an interim title being created even though he is only out for a couple of months.

Of course in reality; they needed the interim title so the big McGregor main event would still be a title match.

I was bored in work during the week and I got thinking......

Maybe Dana sat Jose down and said, 'you're coming to the end of your career, wanna make some real money?'

'We'll fast track McGregor to a title shot against you (selling shed-loads of ppv), then two weeks before the fight you pull out with an injury. We'll stick Mendes in only giving him two weeks to train. Conor obviously will beat him. Then later in the yr, you and Conor will fight for even more money.

    I was quite bored tbf.

They're loads of problems with that hypothesis, but the main one is that Conor beating Mendes is not a given

    what he say?

Aparently aldos rib isnt broken, it was only bruised. the xrays submitted were from an old injury.

If this is true he should be instantly stripped of the title and banned from the ufc.

There is nothing worse than a coward.

yeah but if thats a fact why isnt he been forced to fight, makes no sense. I think its a bit of both, that and the weight cut. I think in mentioning the old injury photo, it shows dana knew it would either get out or that he's realy pissed at aldo and want people to know he got out of it.

The main problem was that he wasn't able to train.... therefore he wouldn't have been able to safely make the big weight drop required.

Imagine trying to run or do any exercise when your ribs are in agony.

I wouldn't take Danas word as gospel

    http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/7/10/8931413/brazilian-doctor-disagrees-with-dana-white-says-jose-aldos-ribs-are

Aldo was right to pull out of the fight imo. Whether its broken or bruised or damaged cartilage its a bad injury and def not worth risking fighting with.

Aldo is not scared of McGregor or anyone, its stupidest thing I've ever heard. Just cause Conor says something doesn't mean its true!

yep between people saying aldo i scared and mendes is getting knocked out. im half hoping conor get wacked now if it will force all these ****e talkers out of the picture..

I think aldo was injured, doesn't mater if it's a little or alot, and injury is not something you fight with when the steaks are so high. disapointed for the fans yes, 5th time he's done it yes but afraid???? for fook sake come on..

I have BT Sports myself but when I check UFC.tv it says €17.99 for the fight in HD? Where you seeing it for 21.99? Or is that just the main event and nothing else for 17.99?

You will need it to be country wide if you are hoping to watch a replay later without knowing the result.

Just buy the event for €17.99 from ufc.tv no need to do free trials and upgrades etc.
