Looked at the trailer for Anno 1800. Looks very impressive. I like city builder games like cities skylines, I am going to add this to my wish list.

Could try Anno 2070 for €5 on steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/48240/Anno_2070/

It's very like it gameplay wise

Thanks, I'll give it a look.

Anno 2070 is an absolute gem. Very relaxing to play. Have to say I love 1800. A proper return to form.
I've been playing Factorio again, it just gets under my skin sometimes. I'm still trying to launch a rocket but I think I'm on track at the moment, just need to sort out supplying ore with trains.

I discovered the Factorio subreddit recently. I've put about 100hrs into the game which is a fair amount, but the stuff you see on the subreddit, it's like they are playing a different game to me. I have no idea what I'm looking at most of the time.

The subreddit doesn't show you the amount of times they tried something and failed before they got the result you wanted. As Shadow said, try something, scrap it, then try again. Eventually you'll get there - and personally for games like Factorio it's about the journey rather than the destination. Have fun.

I'm approaching 1,000 hours on Cracktorio and I have yet to launch one single rocket! I keep thinking of better ways to lay out my base, different ways to construct things, different everything. In the beginning I used others' blueprints for many things, now they've all been mostly replaced by my own blueprints! I'm obsessed with everything (well, things you need a metric sh@t ton of) being produced at a rate where they fully saturate blue belts. Iron, copper & steel plates; battteries; green/red/blue circuits; sulfur; solid fuel; etc! PLASTIC, I FORGOT PLASTIC! 2 LANES OF PLASTIC!! !! !!

Factorio is the best game ever IMO because you can play it however the f*ck you want!

    F*ck it, here's my bus:
    1. 8x Iron
    2. 8x Copper
    3. 2x Steel
    4. 2x Brick
    5. 1x Coal (later changed to Solid Fuel)
    6. 1x Stone
    7. 4x Green Circuits
    8. 2x Gears
    9. 2x Red Circuits
    10. 2x Plastic
    11. 1x Sulfur
    12. 1x Blue Circuits
    13. 1x Batteries

+ more.. .. .. probably. Or less.. .. .. I need a factor of 4 cos my lanes are all in 4's.. .. .. OCD!! Yeah f*ck it, goodbye solid fuel! Your place on the bus is no longer necessary! Trains will transport you thanks! Wait I've miscalculated.. .. .. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARDS!

Here's my end game steel smelter. It doesn't create 100% compression on blue belts, but very high 90's, there is the odd skip. Fully beaconed and moduled, and 100% my own design. That's the fantastic thing about the game, you can keep trying and fiddling until you're 100% happy. Take what others have done as inspiration, but then make it your own.

Would anyone be interested in a shared persistent server for factorio? I never stuck with the game for long but would be fun with others maybe

Frostpunk: Its completely sucking me in since I started on Moday, cant play anything else at the moment. I usually not a massive fan of these type of games but this is excellent.

Been tempted to try Factorio but it looks far too complicated. I know some people enjoy the learning but I seem to have precious little time for games nowadays and used Youtube to learn EU4.

Soundtrack makes the game even more enjoyable, dripping in atmosphere!!

Haha I love that I started a little Factorio discussion!

For anyone who is on the fence - just give it a try. It's not that hard to start off mining and smelting and turning your iron and copper into other stuff and then turning that stuff into other stuff and then turning that stuff into other stuff. The game has pretty unimaginable depth but you don't NEED to build a megabase or set up logistics so complicated they could land a man on the moon or whatever. You can just mess around and have fun, and figure out how to solve one problem and then the next etc.

Update on my game - I have everything in place now to build yellow science. All the stuff is actually being produced but I just need to put it together in assembler machines. I keep losing my supply of petroleum gas (therefore no plastic therefore no advanced circuits therefore no loads of other stuff) and I can't figure out for the life of me why, I thought I am using all the products that come out of the refinery but need to figure it out.

You just hit one problem to solve after another but it's so fun figuring it out. I found my steel production was wildly insufficient so had to increase it about 4-fold, but that means I needed to get enough ore and coal to do that, which meant trains, which meant trains that intersect with each other, which meant signalling etc etc.

Then upgrading to Assembler 3s meant I wasn't producing enough power which caused a blackout which thankfully I was able to cut off my entire factory with one power pole to get going again, then had to produce more power which meant solar which I hadn't done before so had to produce all the stuff you need for solar.

There's a few things I haven't done, like I'm producing blue belts but I haven't laid any down yet (not sure my base needs them). I haven't done anything with the circuit networks or combinators (in fact, I have no idea what combinators are or what they do). I haven't touched nuclear, I brought a mining drill to some uranium, saw it needed sulfuric acid to work, and just left it. I'm not using robots very efficiently at all, I use them for construction but not logistics. So there's loads for me still to learn and do next time.

I think my rocket is in sight now, I'm not sure there's any major blockers now. After this game I'll take a little break and decide how to go on from here, I also own Satisfactory so may give that a shot but the Factorio bug will bite again in a month or two.

    Oh the nostalgia!! :D
At first I didn't think there had been much of a graphics upgrade but then I switched to the old graphics....

Yep. The master chief collection is being released in the story's chronological order so CE is the second to be released after the prequel Reach but was the first halo ever made.

    Yeah the first released.
All the way back in 2001/2002.

Got it with my original xbox and played it to death.

It's a rabbit hole I can't go down because I'd be stuck in wonderland forever.

Same reason I haven't played World of Warcraft or Skyrim

Speaking of Factorio and Heresy, I've just realised I want a factory/systems game set in warhammer 40k.

    Basically, building a forge world.

Borderlands 3 as well as above can't believe nobody mentioned it yet. I have put over 123 hours into it so far.

Not a suggestion, but I'm playing Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Of course, it works as a time consuming game as well with the amount of crap there is on the map

Loved that game. The end of Ezio's story.

Has literally the greatest trailer ever made.
