I might try out FTL seems people have been giving it great reviews.

It's been my go-to game for whenever I only had a short while to spare and wanted to play something I could duck into and out of and pick up again later. It feels punishingly difficult at first, but not too hard once you get into it. Trying to unlock all the ship variants, and trying different weaponry and equipment, tactics, it all adds up to making a fantastic amount of replayability, well recommended.

FTL is brilliant. Just brilliant! My only disappointment with the game is its endgame scenario. It means some goals you set upon yourself just become nihilistic. But, really, you owe it to yourself to try it.

Got destroyed in my first encounter in FTL. 10/10

Couldn't get into the witcher 2. Got the first chapter done and never went back to it.

Dark souls is fun, getting to a point now where every path leads to getting slaughtered. Capra demon is a balls.

Fans of every game say this about every game but it does pick up in chapter 2

Capra Demon is deadly buzz, abuse the stairs

I'm the same, I tried to like Witcher. I played a few hours of 1,2 and 3 but I could not get into any of them. The endless pointless dialogue reads like it was written for 15 year olds. I just don't have time for wall's of meandering dialogue that lead nowhere. 'Get to the point' is all I could think of when I was playing it.

Dark souls on the other hand was fantastic. Solid gameplay, rock hard, less dialogue and a great story that leaves a lot to the imagination.

Going to get stuck into Dark Souls 3 this weekend, as i've barely had anytime to play this last week.

Also, still casually playing World of Warcraft.

Beat Dark Souls 3 during the week actually, so I'm now exploring the life out of it and will probably do a second run, possibly as a mage before heading back to Demons Souls and doing a run of the 4 games again. Beat Bloodborne 4-5 times since Christmas so it's getting an exemption

Absolutely struggled to get through the first chapter, it's a slog. But well worth it after that.

Completed the first two puzzles of Stephen's Sausage Roll. Dark Souls got nothing on the sausage roll :/

I finished the main story on Evil Within! Is the DLC worth playing and is it long? I want to move onto Hitman, but I know if I do, I won't come back for a good while.

Honestly can't get enough of Max Payne 1/2 with different mods right now. Over a decade and nothing has really been as good as them in either direct 3rd person gunplay, style, story, atmosphere, voice acting and a rich cast of characters.

And now it easily plays in triple digit framerates on modern hardware with bullets, bodies and debris flying everywhere. Fan-fecking-tastic.

Max Payne mods? Like what? I only ever played vanilla back in the day

This one is kickass for MP1 Not too much changes. Just more weapons, bullet time adjustments and melee attacks. Enough to make another playthrough interesting in a new way, though. Still hard as hell.

MP2 with the style of MP3. It's not great. Bullet-time shoot dodges are the best, though. The downside is the limited weapons, max payne 3 style filter and character model.

My new love. Makes the game pretty hectic and perhaps too easy but just so much fun and other not entirely gameplay related adjustments that really make it pleasant.

There's some others I've tried. Worth trying a few out. There's a Silent Hill one I like but it's not listed anymore or I can't seem to find it. The only one left is one that seems to be different and sexualised... which I might play but I really like the one I have now. If I can't find it later I'll re-host it in a torrent here. Was a creepy, difficult Silent Hill 3 mod. I guess it's obscure.

Just watched the absolutely terrible Max Payne movie the other day with Mark Wahlburg. While the movie was terrible it did really make me want to go back and play the original. I must have completed that game 5 times or more way back when.

One thing the movie lacked was the narration from the protagonist, that and good acting:)

And a good story. And good action. And, well, good anything.

Seriously one of the worst movies I've ever had the misfortune of sitting through. Utterly, utterly Payneful experience. :pac:

I watched it with herself as well, the Max she could take was about an hour of it:)

All this talk of Faster Than Light -- it get mentions anytime I see "March of the Living", which I bought today (Pixel Zombie Survival Roguelike, think This War Of Mine vs Walking Dead vs FTL).

Grabbed it as it is being published by Creaky Corpse, chap who made Dead Frontier (game I've played for a few years) and got a free implant as part of the cross-promo.

Normally such promos would make me a bit wary but it turns out most people (including a number of relatively big YouTubers) are really liking MOTL - have to agree with them. Fun little game that gets bloody difficult as the days go on. Played for a few hours and barely got to about the far-edge of map#2. Here was me shambling around for a few days on a new play-through.

That just popped up on my Steam queue, and it looks bloody good. Despite the oversaturation of zombies, it's always nice when there's a good honest take on the subject.

So I just re-installed Skyrim and a heap of mods (most of what's in the top 100 of all time on NexusMods) and thankfully it all more or less booted with only minor tinkering required.

    SO...

I'm gonna start a play through as an Argonian thief sort of character starting somewhere random in the world (thanks to a mod) and see how I get on. I'm deliberately picking a character and class I've never played before because why not? :D

Tried that 4 times ended out a murdering GOD of everything every single time.

I just cant roleplay outside of MURDER EVERYONE!.

Also Stealth is broken in skyrim so my thief ideas never worked

Live another life? There's a really cool Undeath mod on the nexus, basically if you die all your stuff is looted by bandits and you've to go retrieve it, easiest for Magic users and Sneak builds, hardest for walking tanks (Yeah I know) because you're missing your main armor and weaponry

I started playing it for the first time yesterday. I loved Oblivion but Skyrim came at a bad time in my life. Now I've got the time so I'm digging in.

What sort of stuff did you install? Right now I've just:
    SKSE
    SkyUI
    HD Texture Pack
    Unofficial Legendary Edition Patches
    Matter of Time
    TrueVision ENB

I didn't want to change too much on a first playthrough. Anything else you would consider essential?

Configurable Autosave and Autoloot are really handy, IcePenguins Maps are great too
