What would allowances bring you up to?

Allowances will you bring you up to just under €41k before tax for the first year.

I searched for an answer but can't find one.

Is there an age limit for applying to Fire service?

No age limit. Not unusual to have a couple of recruits late 30s early 40s

all things being equal, and if the process does open up on the 20th - does anyone know the rough timeline for how the process will play out. I have a big event next year and would hate if it fell in the middle of training (all things being successful).

    even a rough guide like:
    applications close: xxx
aptitude test completed: xx months later
    interview: xxx months later
    fitness test: xxx months
    training start date: xxx

Judging from last campaign: completely, 100%, unpredictable. It was never spelled out and 90% of rumours on timelines were inaccurate. It all happened in the end but it was never anyway predictable unfortunately. Until it came to the medical stage, when the rest was spelled out.

According to the info the unions were given the interviews will take place in January. Results can normally be out fairly soon after interviews finish.

The job needs recruits badly. If there is no recruit class trained next year it will be a disaster for manning levels.

I would presume that a recruit class will be penciled in for the summer.

Surly they need another class ready to go sooner than next summer because the recruits training now are the last of the previous panel. And by the looks of it they won't cover people retiring/sick leave/holidays...

Best way to get the information is to do a pre aptitude course.

Oh I'd say so alright. Had planned on doing them, just if there was any other material out there. I think cork is opening soon again too.

I think the aptitude tests would be pretty much the same as garda and the rest of them I have done the career services course before . If anyone has gone through it before what is it like ?

Online aptitude test before the supervised aptitude test.
