You don't see me or anyone else talking about the Prawn sandwich brigade or the lack of non-Leinster games that take place there.

Let me address this:
1. This came around 4 or so years ago and didn't draw a big crowd.
2. I didn't expect a big crowd when buying my ticket.
3. This is not a competitive fixture, more reason for people not to be attracted.
4. It's not televised. (It's on Sky actually, thanks CatFromHue)
5. Even if Munster weren't in the final of the league, no big stars would be on the panel.

And to the person who was fuming over the match not being covered on Against The Head, the match is not important and Ireland could be wiped off the field and alarm bells still would not ring as they simply don't care.

That its not a competitive fixture doesn't imply the crowd wont be huge. If Munster were not in the pro12 final you would have seen more first choice Munster players who are fighting for world cup spots in the Irish squad.
People are not speaking ill of Munster or Twomint.

I can't understand the ticket prices. Either put these exhibitions on around the country and absorb a loss to ensure a large crowd, or hold them in Dublin. You can't build regional goodwill and turn a profit with an exhibition dead rubber.

This game may not win a player a spot in squad but could certainly lose a player on fringes a spot if they play horribly.

Aviva too big yes and not simply RDS too small. There is no agreement with Royal Dublin Society for another game in ground and its a chance to move a game outside of Dublin. All Ireland games don't have to or need to be in Dublin

Serious long shot, but does anyone know where I'd find out if this game is being broadcast in Asia? I get the sky sports feed of pro12 games and wouldn't mind watching this.

Just a friendly (and I genuinely mean friendly) pointer. The levels of provincialism here are minimal. Things work well here because most of us get on well. Nobody is bad mouthing Munster or Thomond Park. What people are complaining about is the timing of the fixture. A week later and/or a Friday kick-off would have drawn a better crowd.

I wouldn't mind the PM to try it out, but I've a feeling my access to WiFi will be poor. I'm literally gonna be on an Island with no roads, no cars, the works. The hotel has WiFi and happens to have Satelight TV, which includes Setanta Sports... But it's way better than Irish Setanta. It literally just shows rugby or league 24/7. Never stops. In general I agree. But I reckon a player like Gilroy could make or break his chances. If he has a nightmare, that's his chances gone, whereas a decent display would keep him in the mix.

Could be like the Wolfhounds game this season. No one really helped themselves but the likes of Marmion and Madigan definitely set themselves back.

Yeah, you can probably do very little to advance your case, because the old asterix will come out given the nature of the game...but you can definitely harm your chances if you play poorly. Sort of a no-win for the players.

I would never badmouth Munster, I'm as biased as they come. But the fact is that as a Munster & Ireland fan, I have very very little interest in going to the match.

I've been asked to go but the night that it's on + the price doesn't seem very appealing at all.

I don't think it's Munster's fault, I don't know who actually set the fixture, it just seems very stupid having it on in Thomond when the interest is likely to be much higher in Dublin/Belfast. With the likes of Kelleher & O'Shea playing, along with Jennings' last hurrah & Gopperth at OH; I imagine the RDS would have sold out. I know it's for Munster but the timing is bad.

If any of the likes of Stander, Coughlan, Bleyendaal, Botha, Guinazu, Smith, Mafi had been involved for the BaaBaas (I'm guessing Saili & Stringer are no-nos) and maybe the likes of JOD, ROM, JJ, Casey as younger players in the Ireland squad, then I imagine it would have drawn a lot of interest.

But Munster are playing a more important match. I don't see how that's any sort of slight.

I would have thought this was the perfect game for a small ground with €5 ticket prices, bring-a-kid-for-free type affair.

I find the way the games lately have been divvied up is a bit weird: I mean the Pro 12 final in Belfast between Munster & Glasgow??
