Pity the deadline is so early, thought it with not being a Saturday it might closer to the kick offs so that teams would be known, similar to a midweek GW. Likely to be quite an amount of rotation so having as many starters as possible essential

There will be punting. Oh yes, there will be punting.

2 ft to make, have tinkered around with potential team a good bit already. have davis and myhil so will probably replace davis with shmeichel/mignolt. Have also considered playing 3-5-2, reckon cuadrado could be worth a decent punt, surely he'll be starting?

    Gomez out for someone?

Have 2 FTs so Kane will go and I'll see who else.

With Newcastle needing to win now to stay up, Cisse might a good punt if he's any way fit.

I'm free to take a one week punt on a striker.
    Lukaku is the early favourite.

If I had stayed strong and banked that was my plan
Instead i switched Mignolet out for ospina so it will be ulloa now most likely
after watching motd I regret it even more now
lukaku very lively and even took a very good free kick that went close.
I may have a bit of fun yet......

Have 2FTs so will be thinking of getting Sterling out for a midfielder with something to play for firstly and then maybe think about a nice punt elsewhere!

Maybe Coutinho out, Puncheon in, I would have 11 home players then, or maybe bank it to have 2 next week
    😉😉😉

It's more than a pity but well c'est la vie.

Hopefully managers will leak some tasteful info during the week to help us choose the best GW38 punts.

Dunno tbh. My team's grand! Might take a punt or two depending on how this week plays out!

    Kane for Benteke most likely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

    Young on for Gomez.
    What ye think?

Yeah. Young is under my radar and I'm thinking he could replace Cambiasso in my team and then I'd assess what to do with Kane. If all my big guns are set to play I may just bench him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

    Kane for Benteke most likely.

Villa have nothing to play for now, except staying fit for the cup final. Granted, there aren't many with something to play for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,024 ✭✭✭✭ShaneU

Fearing another Aguero rampage. Could take a hit to get him (replacing Giroud/Benteke) but I'd have to get rid of a Chelsea or Arsenal player to do it and they both have easy fixtures. If Giroud blanks for the 6th game in a row against Sunderland then I'll pull the trigger.

Yaya, Yaya, Yaya, Yaya, Yaya, Yaya, Yaya Toure :)

Time to burry the hatchet before he heads off to Italy.

    Sterling out.

Not decided who is worth his place but as long as he is out I will be happy.

Have to decide if I'm going to take a -4 to get Hazard back in as both rivals have him and if goes nuts, any chance I have of winning the ML will be gone. Considering Sterling and Benteke to Hazard and Cisse.

De Gea taken off after 73 mins but didn't see the exact challenge that caused the injury.
More than likely like Falcao on his way out and given a standing ovation on his last home game which will be a big loss for Utd, Falcao not so much.
Valdes might get a full game for the last match against Hull.

Ndoye could be worth a punt. Hull need to win and Valdes isn't great.

It was when he jumped up to punch the ball. He was in a bit of a weird shape at the time I would imagine he came down awkwardly. Shame that is the way he bows out for United if that is the case.

I may well be doing this aswell with Fabregas suspended now.

Well Fabregas out to Silva seems a no-brainer.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,991 ✭✭✭sword1

15 points behind in mini league now so if Ramsey c, giroud can bridge the gap and sanchez c I will get silva to match him, if no good I might get Mane as another differential, Fabregas out either way

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,700 ✭✭✭sheroman01

I'm thinking Henderson and Kane out for Young and Benteke. Don't want to pull the trigger on it yet but might have to as I have exactly enough for it.

    fabregas --->????mata?

Hhhmmmmm to get 11 home players I'd have to sell mata for -4
Now I see people talking about bringing him or young in !
Hull are rubbish but they have something to play for united have nothing .
Only need to look at tonight to see the difference that makes to a home team and they had nothjbg to play for !
I may hold mata but if I didn't have one a united player would not be on my wishlist this week

I actually suspect Hull may well win that game. Was tempted by mata but as the cards lie at present I'll be staying away from United players.

I would place more weight on lads that might be looking for a move / improved contract rather than if they're playing home or away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,654 ✭✭✭greedygoblin

I wish I had the funds to bring Silva back in. :(
    Or even Yaya.

My rival has cut my lead from 24 to 14 so far this week. If my differentials of Bellerin & Ozil can open that back out a bit I might take a -4 to draft Silva back as a blocker.

Aguero, and a dirt cheap midfeilder. Because its the only way I can bring him in. Although will mean dropping either Hazard or Silva.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,336 ✭✭✭✭km79

I'm now milling over mata to milner and kane to lukaku for -4
despite it being completely unnecessary and lukaku being firmly on my must never buy again list :D
also just have the EXACT amount for Kane to ulloa and mata to Silva........have to wait till later in week though
Henderson (will be sub otherwise ) to bolasie and mata to Silva and play 352 also an option :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

Had to know what to do with my two, transfers and pots of cash.

Tempted to get silva in but it'd be for Ramsey probably, Bolasie looks a decent option now given he fits both the criteria of looking for a move and playing at home. Then could do Kane to Lukaku and play..

Migs or Myhill....fcuk knows which is best at this stage!
    Kos, Terry, Huth
    Silva, Sanchez, Hazard, Bolasie
    Benteke, Aguero, Lukaku.

All at home except the Keeper.

Do we know which players are in these categories?

    Ings

I presume there is zero chance of Fabregas appealing that?

3 game ban? They'll hardly bother.
Would the Charity shield count as second game? If so he'd only miss opening day.

I would add Tekkers & Austin, maybe Lukaku.

Tekke did cross my mind, but thought Lukaku was settled. Austin, I suppose will want premiership team next season.
With talk of RVP going to Real Madrid, United could do with a new forward.

I was thinking those three would have sights on moves to bigger clubs.
I guess I made the point in response to the "picking Home over Away players" point made by km79.
imo it doesn't make much more of a difference this week over others... in general, it's still an advantage but basing it on the premise that players will up their performance for the fans is wishful thinking imo, I would place much more weight on a player's selfish reasons at this time of the season.

I would expect big games from a few at United too, a few that might see it as a last chance to impress before the cheque book is dusted down. When you see Ashley Young diving in for tackles as opposed to the wind blowing him down, he's not doing it for the Stretford End.

    Team for the weekend:

    Myhill
    PVA, Bertrand, Kos
    Hazard, Sanchez, Silva, Mata
    Kane, Aguero, Giroud

Two transfers for the weekend. One is Kane to Benteke.
Taking Bertrand out leaves me with 4.4 mil. I'm thinking Wasileski is about the best bet. Any other options?

This weekend is going to be a sheer headwreck for people with a small lead like myself. I'm 13 points ahead in one league and will be about 20 ahead in another. Anything could happen though. Like I'm taking out Kane and the way previous year ends have gone like this, he could easily score a hat trick. Lukaku was bang out of form two years ago and banged in four for West Brom.

You can also get crazy results which is already happening - Saints 6-1 to Villa, West Brom 3 Chelsea 0. Being a Blackburn supporter, I remember some of our last day results over the years when we had nothing to play for - 06/07 for example, Reading 3 Blackburn 3. Spurs 0 Blackburn 4 another year. Not to mention other games like the United West Brom 5-5.

The other problem is players signing off. Talking to the resident office Man City supporter here. He reckons players like Dzeko and Nasri could get a start at the weekend because there's a high chance it'll be their last game for City.
