Squad rolls deep, 13 & 64 combined. That's not so bad it's only an average of a 0.2 KD.

That mode with the robot is so good!

    Still getting this:

Haven't been able to connect at any point over the last 3 days. I've reset my router, made sure I have the latest FW updates for the PS, etc.

I've never had a problem with any game up to this. I'd say I'll give COD another miss this year. No point buying the full game if for some random reason I can never connect to MP.

Played a bit tonight - it feels very like AW, I do like that now you can control the distance of the double jump but the invisable walls annoy me so much, if I can jump that high I should be able to land on it!!!!

Also why do all COD games insist on having maps in locations that make no sense - plaza, the castle one in ghosts, terrace, the one on the rooftop with the instant death drops in advanced warfare and a safari park in this one - this proably annoys me a lot more than it should.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,006 ✭✭✭Ramza

The game has some balance issues but overall felt like a huge improvement over AW and Ghosts. With some tweaks it can be a great game. Certain specialists/weapons/perks need re working but overall I'm optimistic.

The maps felt great, they flowed well overall but there is way way too many amazing head glitch spots scattered around every map, they're literally everywhere. Bit annoying. Connections were fine for me, always been 17-35m, sometimes up to 50 but thats not too bad, and was only for a second. The movement feels CoD like for the first time in ages. Here's to hoping Treyarch can get the finger out and work on all the stuff fans have complained/given feedback about over the beta.

Raging I didn't get my nuclear, 26 streak and the game ended! Will have to wait until November I suppose :P

When will the beta become downloadable on xbox one ? Will I be able to download it tonight after 12?

Eek! I had decided not to get the new CoD but I might if I continue to hear good reviews...

I thought it was way too easy to spawn trap a team. Particularly playing Dom on combine. Easy win if your doing the trapping ðŸ˜Â. Rage quit time if your always spawning to death. 😡

Some of weapons need to be balanced as said m8 was ridiculous and stuns need a bit of a nerf. Enjoyed the game a lot. Pity have to wait another 2 and half months for the full one.

Really enjoyed it, needs a couple of buffs and nerfs to some things, rejack etc, but they have a potentially great game on their hands.
Spawn trapping was a big problem at the start of the beta but they adjusted the spawn logic sometime towards the end to make them flip much easier, it was very noticeable. Loved the gun variation, there wasn't just 1 or 2 dominant ones like in aw, you can do well with nearly any gun in the beta.
Playing with a team also makes a big difference, i cant play alone any more, too frustrating when youre trying to win a game and your team mates are doing nothing, even one other person you know makes a big difference. Will be playing arena mode 90% of the time

    What is arena mode?

I agree with the guns, seemed kind of it relive which one I used as I did well with them all.

**** how we have to wait so long for the game now. I was barely even bothered buying it until the beta came out, now I'm 100% getting the hardened version.

Its the new equivalent of league play from Black Ops 2, 4vs4 games under competitive rules so certain things will be banned. I'd say the competitive game modes will be hardpoint, search, ctf and uplink.
So much more fun than pubs imo

Ah yeah I used to play that in BO2. Very hard unless you got a party going with decent mates who play the objective.

Everything is looking very positive for Black Ops3, I think they might have introduced the lag to test server loads etc. and they changed a lot of things on the go in the beta happened to me loads of times where a game would end and it would say new game settings to be download.
I'm hoping my beta code will come through from Amazon so I can continue the fun on Xbox One!

League Play was great, hope they fix the rankings though, was far too easy to hit Masters.

What are the score streaks like?

The streaks in blops2 were the best. The sound of that warthog staffing the place was awesomeðŸ˜႒ also I loved the remote controlled car sneaking up behind some poor bas***d then boom.

Also the dread of seeing one racing towards you and you have an empty clip good times

There's a carvjust like that that hovers and ou can jump meaning you can explode it in their face :P

Nothing too worth mentioning IMO. Uav and counter Uav are too low in the sky so I spot them, lock onto them and destroy them within 5 seconds of it being announced to be in the air.

B03 scorestreaks are very like they were in AW and Ghosts; very lackluster outside a select few. The Hellstorm missile is really good in BO3, not OP but feels just about right for how much it cost. Lightning Strike is back but pales in comparison to the Hellstorm so I doubt it will get much use. The Wraith is really good too (stealth chopper reskin, but now has stealth/cloak). The Talon (little air drone that follows you around) also felt really solid too.

The problem with the Beta was with how OP blackhats are. Literally 9/10 games, you'd throw up UAVs/CUAVs/HATRs (new VSAT), and they'd get hacked. Yep, VSATs can now be hacked, it's no longer a satellite but can now be seen in the sky hovering in the air. Any huge streak can be hacked and taken for the other team, which really sucks because so many times I'd earn VSATs and Wraiths for the team only to have them instantly hacked and used against me. They appear really quickly in the sky too which made it really easy to do. I believe in BO2 blackhats destroyed the streaks, didn't take them for your team? Can't remember, but currently blackhats are way, way too good and I hope to see them nerfed.

Overall scorestreaks seem fine, there's some solid assault streaks but some of the dearer ones are really crappy. Blackhats just completely ruin any incentive to earn the really useful streaks as you're just deterred from using them in fear of having them immediately hacked and stolen.

    This game is pure ****e.

Clunky controls, way over the top killstreaks, massive balancing issues and ****ty connections as usual.

Activision need to get their heads out of their asses and reboot the COD series. Strip out all the mad **** and make it a proper shooter like Call of Duty 4 and Black Ops 1 were.

Treyarch had an amazing opportunity to take COD back to WWII era. I can understand why they did BLOPS 3 given that 2 was the best selling COD ever but this is very sub par shooter when compared to BLOPS 2.

I am hoping this game goes down in flames. They'll have no choice but to reboot it if the sales are worse than last years release.

Oh and watch out with their promises of dedicated servers. If they even do have them you can bet they'll be the cheapest kind.

    Someone getting killed too often?

I think it's a fantastic game. Regards to the problems you faced (I've experienced none of them) but..BETA....its literally there for you to test. It's far from finished.

Instead of wishing so much hatred on a game you dislike, why not in install it and move on? I don't want elder scrolls online to crash and burn just because it didn't personally suit me.

I take a much bigger view of this rather than just myself. If COD sells well this time round it means we'll have the same half cooked turkey for another few years. If it doesn't sell well this time we might actually might see a reboot that strips all the crap out.

I've clocked an insane amount of Call of Duty hours all the way back to COD 2. It's sad to see how much the franchaise has fallen.

I definitely won't be buying this game but as every COD fan says there's always next year ;)

Lets be honest, if Black Ops 3 doesn't float your boat, then you might as well forget about COD for the next 3 years, as we have Infinity Ward's Ghosts 2 or maybe MW4 and the following year Sledgehammer's Advanced Warfare 2. Treyarch are the best COD developer of the three by a long shot, and by and large Black Ops 3 Beta has been embraced positively by the COD Community.
I do have to say that having played the Beta on both consoles, I have to say the Beta on the PS4 was a lot nicer experience, what I mean by that is that I had less crashes and freezes in Game and also less lag.

As for the wall running and the boost jumping, I don't really see an issue with it, the wall running is just a quicker way to get from A to B. Boost jumping won't save you from being killed like it would in Advanced Warfare. Remember your playing a Beta, Treyarch are taking a lot of feedback and changing stuff like OP SMG's like the Razerback and they basically just nerfed Rejack, so rather then get up and possibly continue your killstreak now you lose it making that specialist ability totally useless.
But hey as Mark says if you really can't stand it you won't have to buy it, thanks to the Beta you've just saved yourself €60.
Also just to give you a little bit of hope, rather then get Ghost's 2 or MW4, Activision might decide to release next gen remakes of the old COD's like MW1/MW2/MW3, the COD community seem to want these so maybe it will happen if they think Ghosts 2 isn't going to sell!

    Very good response BTW,

You're right about the studio rotation. Treyarch is by far the best studio amoungst them. If a reboot didn't start with them it won't looking ahead. They'll keep making whatever sells and if that's Mario hopping around levels shooting that's what they'll do.

Although, since Advanced Warfare didn't even sell as many copies as Ghosts that makes me think a big part of the community feels alienated with all these future warfare elements such as Mario jumping, jet packs, crazy kill streaks, etc etc.

I am hoping they go back to modern warfare or back to WWII or Vietnam.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,421 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Advanced Warfare was a joke though, the boosts were at least 50% too strong and thus destroyed the spawn system amongst other things as you could cross the map in a matter of seconds. The movement in Bops 3 seems to work much better.

    My thoughts on the BETA:

Experienced a lot of lag i.e. emptying a clip into a guy, only for him to turn around and kill me. Kill cam then shows him seeing me first and firing first. Same old story with COD, beta or not, and I don't believe for a second that they will have dedicated servers.

Boring, lifeless maps. Compared to MW2 and BLOPS 1 & 2, the maps in the beta are just plain dull.

I do think the wall running and jump-boosting is better implemented compared to AW. Would be useful for game modes like capture the flag etc. where traversing the map quickly is important

Apart from the frame rate, graphics for me are still last gen.

Having the BETA as part of a pre-order, and then making it suddenly available to everyone just makes a mockery of the people that pre-ordered this.

All in all, it just feels like money for old rope. Maybe I'm just getting too old for these twitch shooters? Looking forward to Rainbow Six, signed up for the beta. And maybe Star Wars Battlefront will at least be fun, considering the IP.

I've been playing the beta for the last few nights on PC and so far I actually quite like it.

As it stands though, it seems that you can spawn trap people again. I've got caught a few times where it is just spawn die maybe three or four times before the spawns flip.

I really like glitch though. The amount of times I used to round a corner to find four running at me can now be counter-acted a small bit. The way it has to charge up so it can't be overused is good as well and makes it fairly balanced.

I do wonder about tempest though as sometimes it seems that it can jump from the person who got shot to another person who can be up to 10
    feet away.

I'm only on level 18 so far though, so I still have a lot to unlock.

Lag is fairly noticeable for me so far, but I only have a 5MB line anyway, so it could just be that, but it does seem consistently worse than say MW3 (which I was playing recently). My ping seems to always be around 90ms no matter when I play it whereas most people I am playing seem to be around half that.

Other than that, I am able to run the game at low settings at about 30fps, which isn't bad considering my specs. I've been using MSI Afterburner and it seems that my CPU is maxed out where as my graphics cards are running high but not maxed out. I might try overclocking to see if I can get a bit more out of the CPU and see if that will make any difference to the game.

Overall, I am fairly happy with the game and might consider buying it but it depends on if I can improve the performance on my PC rather than anything that is wrong with the game itself.

I can't get a handle on this game at all.. Maybe it just I have only been able to get online only yesterday evening and everybody is well ahead of me but boy am I getting murdered. Can't get a run going at all don't know is it lag or everybody is running UAV, ALL THE TIME, but I get shot every time I turn a corner.

Otherwise I feel some of these specialist cats are way over powered. Is there one with knife the enables you to run like a maniac and start knifing people all over the place, nothing I could do could stop him. He's on top of ya in an instant....
