Yeh I think most people think you need to be consistently getting insane scores but if you have a look at Simon March his average GW rank is just over 500k!

Mine is 793k no way I would have thought it was that high thats pretty depressing actually.

Overall I finished with 87 points which I'm delighted with and am now at a season best 13k. I also have two FT's to splash around with and 2m in the bank, giving me lots of options for next week and beyond.

My game day punt was going to be Aguero -> Benteke but decided that Austin was going to be enough of a differential as most people weren't investing themselves in the DGW heavily, if at all. Also, I hate making game day transfer unless it's out of necessity because they usually don't pay off.

I have to say that I was holding my tongue a bit on this thread over the weekend. One of the best reasons to post here is the community spirit, but it was disappointing to see people come across as quite bitter. This is the first season that I've taken a big interest in the game beyond just joining a work league and changing my team whenever I remembered. I've learned and realised a lot from this forum, the most important thing being that if you're going to do well, you're going to have to get very lucky along the way, especially in wide-open game weeks where the choice of captaincy isn't solved e.g. Aguero when he's on form and there's a multitude of genuine candidates for the arm band.

Whether you call it luck, or call it skill, it's part of the game, and no matter how well you think you've set your team up, absolutely anything can (and does) happen on the pitches! And I love it!

Why are people saying folk were bitter?????

A lot like me were disappointed and worse about making wrong decisions but to call us/them or whoever bitter is way off IMO.

Added myself to the table. Overall ranking of ~ 5,000. Everything was going so well until I decided to go for Eriksen and Pelle in for Silva and Kane in the January wildcard. What might have been!

That's for a 33k rankings. 7 scores in the 30-39 is depressing (mirrors my overall captain failure this season).

And this year my current 33k rankings is linked with a 955k average GW rank. After all there are almost 3.5M teams in the game!

My average GW is about 860k for a current rank of 11k.

Yeah for sure any six digit rank is decent these days the point I was really trying to make with it was that we often feel that winning this think is practically impossible and that you need an extreme run of luck to get to the top but when you see that his average gw rank is 500k it makes it seem a lot more realistic a target. Its a sign of the times that even when you are in the top 10k you can have a seven digit gw and still see a green srrow! Its amazing how much the game has grown.

Slow day at work so forgive me....

Never mind your tables....for all you chart fans here is the impact of GW ranking on Average GW Ranking set against Overall Ranking....

As opposed to seklly I am more of a one extreme to the other man and the GW rank bar yoyos wildly but with suprisingly minor effect on the Average GW rank which is pretty steady.

I had two purple patches with very good GW Ranks:

8 13,874
9 122,465
10 5,494
11 159,664

and

14 324,904
15 103,186
16 236


Otherwise its been a roller coaster!!

Incidentally I think the comparison of weekly scores is not very worthwhile, its GW rank that matters.

For example. In GW15 52 points was a GW rank of around 100k, in GW7 55 points was 1.3m

Yeh the points:gw rank moves around wildly. I always think its silly when people say I am always happy with a GW score of X points thats just not how it works!
