Sure half that long polygon post is ****e then so

I'm so hype I cannot wait to get my paws on one

Ain't nobody got time to read that post. :P

Whether previous VC purchases will be available to that account is another question however, although that won't bother me too much as I never bought that many VC games, their prices have always been rip-off. It would be a nice gesture though.

Even though I'm holding off on getting the Switch I'm still genuinely excited for you folks that are taking the plunge at launch. Have my fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you and looking forward to hearing the first impressions.

Ya I think the best time to get a Switch is not at launch, like a lot of consoles, during the summer will have enough variety by then to tempt different gamers depending on their tastes and people also have the full weight of info on the system as well, which unfortunately Nintendo is not communicating very well about before the launch.

Switch advertising so far has been borderline repulsive but this 1-2 Switch stuff takes it to another level, are they actively trying to put people off?

I think the advertising has been just fine, and the 1,2 Switch ads are trying to describe a game that is less visual and more tactile.
But, if you are finding it poor then they're missing some market share.
In the case of 1,2 Switch it could be that the game is simply not for you.
But the rest of the marketing, just seems grand, the original promo being really quite good, for most.
Each to their own I guess.

Sure, you might pick one up later.
It's a big outlay to be sure for a ultimately single major game system in the first instance.

Was on argos uk site and when you click into the console page it says how many were ordered in the last 48 hours. The answer is 48 (38 Neon and 10 Grey). Grey is £20 more expensive for some reason.

I kidding I kidding, also missed out on one important word helpful. Those weekly eshop updates are a godsend.

Still no bundle info from Smyths, I am not queuing at midnight either way but am hopeful of a Bomberman discount at least or the pro controller.

Smyths don't take deposits on accessories unfortunately so I am weary of getting the pro controller at this time.

I'm in a quandary on the queuing thing.
On the one hand it makes an occasion out of the release and can be fun.
On the other hand I'm on duty in the morning and there isn't much I can do about that, and it's the type of job you need your wits about you for...
So even if I stay up and collect it, it'll be leaba time shortly after getting home.
I'll be bringing it with me to work, hoping to find a little time to have a peep at the Switches idiosyncrasies, but it'll be the weekend before I get a proper go of it....
Tough being a grown up you know!

Since Swords isn't having a midnight launch now, and Symths in airside is both cold and a little dour for my tastes, I'll wait till the morning.

I also had to re-pre order in Gamestop, since my tesco order said I wouldn't receive it till the 13th, which was really much too long to wait.

Nintendo have taken back hiphoptherobot's Switch and he has taken down all the videos of it, quite a weird story at the moment.

That decision was taken off my hands when my local gamestop wasn't among those stores that were announced for midnight openings and to be honest, I was relieved. Like CiDeRmAn, it would've been a quick look then bed. Friday's always busy for me work wise, so it'll be Evening time for me when I finally get to look properly. I may try and swing by on the morning and pick it up if they're opening early.

Midnight launches are very tiring anyway. Staying up till 4am for the presentation killed me.

Lots of game boxes and interesting info on argos uk, seems they're stocking the master edition for £79.99 beats smyths price by about €15 give or take, hope Argos here does so too.

Am still unsure if that sword statue is worth the extra cash it would be nice to have and all, I gave a Wind Waker HD special edition away as a gift a few years ago, am still cursing the succubus to this day. Haven't heard of any other limited editions of any other switch games besides Zelda on this side of the pond, seen the issac one the yanks are getting and dread to even look at the rpg goodies in Japan.

Damn they would have needed an army of lawyers and a 1% share of nintendo stock plus my own likeness in amiibo form to get that back from me.

Bet Nintendo will comp him for it though. Maybe a launch day switch with a few games.

Very random occurrence plus he got his bit of fame on idiot land they call youtube still I'd cry if they took it back from me 13 days now, tomorrow begins the 12 days of Switchmas.

Indeed but last I checked I'm a people type and having a voodoo esque statue of myself would be better for Miracle Max than the portrait of robbingbandit deal we have going on. :pac:

Apparently he tried to sell it on reddit. Oops.

Strange one, how can they take it back from him although I've no clue how he got one in the first place

He bought it from a dude who stole it (from a warehouse presumably)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

If it was stolen (presumptions are great) and he knew it and Nintendo knew it, probably not worth the hassle to enter legal proceedings about it. Very murky details right now though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,407 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Was gonna say I'm surprised he didn't try selling it considering the stupid prices people would get for games released early.
Side note, I don't think I would like a top loading washing machine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Ya when he brought it up the first time he was being very coy about it but people started to cop him pretty soon and then when he mentioned some Switch's 'mysteriously disappeared' it all started to get murky. He apparently tried to sell it before he uploaded all that stuff, not that it makes it much better. He lied about the whole 'got it early from a retailer' thing so he must have been somewhat aware of it's shady origins.

Maybe he lied about the dust too! :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,407 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

The dust was a Nintendo tracking device for the ninjas.
As someone else pointed out, if it was retailer sending out early, more than one person would've got it.
Curious how much he paid though

They don't like south park neither, we don't take kindly to folks that don't like south park round here.

You mean the same Polygon who wrote an article about why Trump is good for video games? I think we can safely ignore that.
