So it could be more than €330 :o

Ah I doubt it. It's already higher than most places. Maybe it'll be lower :D

What are the chances Smyth's will be able to "switch" my grey preorder to the neon? I'm really liking the neon now!!

Have to ask. If they still have pre orders open I wouldn't imagine it being an issue.

Remember the unboxing from the early hours of this morning?

Well the screen has a dead pixel. Look north northeast at the 3:03 mark towards the edge of the screen. That's unfortunate and it's always a slight worry. I've snapped a shot below.

    Could that not be anything?
I mean, the resolution of the shot is so low.
Anyway, we'll see in two weeks, and I'll be returning mine if it's like that.

Its clearly not a dead pixel if you watch what happens after 3:03, Id say its a reflection of something in the room.

No, I'm pretty sure it's a dead pixel. If you watch further, it appears black on a white background. It's just something for people to watch out for when they first start up their Switch.

Happened to me with a DS Lite(there were 2 practically together) and I can't remember was it Gamestop or Smyths refused to exchange it. Citing some nonsense about how I'd have to return it to Nintendo directly. Shouldn't have let them get away with that. Nearly sure it was Smyths.

They call them dead pixels but they're not dead. Well for me they usually display the wrong colour.

That youtube lad waiting in line for a month to be the first person to get a switch must be feeling a bit silly.

Open them in the shop en masse right st the counter at midnight! It'll be a frenzied cross between Willy Wonka and Its a Wonderful Life as you scramble to find dead pixels and scream for replacements, snatching other preorders from behind the counter, tipping over boxes of unwanted Skylanders cards, knifing the Xbox owner who showed up to buy For Honor and wave it in your face. Mass hysteria!

Minus the Jingle All The Way mayhem, people should perhaps check them in store if possible because the Switch has a low charge already on the battery.

Oh sh1t just watched it in 1080p, its definitely a dead pixel, exact same spot as my launch day phat DS aswell, never change Nintendo.

Now that you mention it, it's roughly where the 2 dead pixels were on my DS Lite as well. A little lower though.

The guy who uploaded the video confirmed that it's NOT a dead pixel but simply just dust. Pixelgate ends with a whimper.

That is the most realistic fake dead pixel Ive ever seen then :D

Definitely looks like a dead pixel and it wouldn't help its likely upcoming sale.

Dust wouldn't change colour like that I'm sure. Black on a white background, sure but the other way around? Unless it was glittery.

Dead pixel or not the advice still stands on checking them as soon as possible when people buy theirs.

It actually would. If the particle was white it would stand off on a dark background and would silhouette on a really bright background.
As you say though, it's something to keep in mind and worth having a look for.

A dead pixel wouldn't show up before the screen is on ;-) take a look there when he takes the switch out of the box. The dust is right there.

Gamestop in the US have started to install Switch demo kiosks in their stores.

    wii-u-kiosk-640x480.jpg?x74487

I think the Wii U kiosks looked nicer. That's a personal preference. The Switch demo unit isn't terrible but it's not great either. And I read a couple of days ago that they can't play anything, you can only watch some videos on a tablet for the first while. I'll try to find the story. Wasn't it a Panasonic TV they used on Wii U? It's too blurry to make out what brand is on the Switch unit. I'd say it's Panasonic again.

Edit: Still looking. There was a few things mentioned, like how the games will be displayed towards the front of all Gamestop stores which should help with exposure.

#Tinertia possibly heading to the #NintendoSwitch

Tinertia possibly heading to the Switch

Candescent Games is ready to Switch it up

In a response to a tweet, Candescent Games expressed interest in possibly bringing the 2D platforming masterpiece ‘Tinertia’ to the Nintendo Switch and the studio has already taken the first step towards making this a reality. While development for Nintendo’s upcomning platform has not begun, the game was built using the Unity engine and luckily, the Switch was designed from the ground up to fully support this and many other architectures out of the box.

That Gamestop mockup will change quick enough to 1 row of new releases and the rest as used copies. That's not a dig at Nintendo, but at how it's hard to find new games in Gamestop among the used copies.

Was watching an hour of 1-2-Switch on giantbomb
    http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/we-play-1-2-switch-with-nintendo/2300-11877/
Looked fun. Handy game to have in your carry case if you're visiting relatives for the weekend and have your switch to keep you entertained. Can just play then with the relatives.

On another note, don't know if was suggested, but I think it would be great if EA implement the ability to use the Joycons from 1 system for 2 player in FIFA. Have quick mini tournaments at work or wherever.

I would have thought that this was a given tbh.

Sony leaping back into the handheld space by ripping off Nintendo?
    Say it ain't so,

I'm surprised after the money they must have lost on the the Vita and PS TV that they'd ever go near it again.

Patents don't mean anything sure. Considering how fast they left the Vita to die I'd be surprised if we got another handheld from them now.
