    http://news.sky.com/story/1442344/jeremy-clarkson-suspended-by-bbc-after-fracas
The BBC has suspended Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson "following a fracas" with a producer.

An investigation will now take place into the alleged incident and no-one else has been suspended, the corporation said.

It also said Top Gear would not be broadcast this Sunday.

"The BBC will be making no further comment at this time", it added.

Clarkson was put on what was called his final warning last year.

That followed a racism row after claims he used the n-word while reciting the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny Moe during filming of the BBC2 programme.

He previously faced a storm of protest from mental health charities after he branded people who throw themselves under trains as "selfish".

And he was forced to apologise for telling BBC1's The One Show that striking workers should be shot.

A BBC spokeswoman said in a statement today: "Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation.

"No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time."

I don't think Top Gear will last without Clarkson all will be forgiven.

    the n-word

This always looks so childish. If they don't want to print the word (fair enough) at least just say something like "a racial slur". Don't block out the word like we're playing Wheel of Fortune.

Looks like the BBC management is fed up of him and looking for an excuse to give him a shove at this point.

But then it would be even more boring than it already is.

Maybe now Top Gear can become a show about cars again.

And just as boring as every other car show.

I hate how political correctness is becoming all encompassing.
Striking workers should be shot if they disrupt the lives of others.
People who commit suicide are selfish.
He explictly asked for the segment in which he said the n-word to not be used. It was one of 3 takes, and he mumbled past it in an effort to keep the rhythm going. Saying he's racist is ridiculous.

It wouldn't be the same without the racism.

The man is an inspiration to us all.

He speaks the truth and some people can't take it.

The BBC are gone far too soft in the head.

Lets hope he's back on our screens before too long.

I don't think Top Gear will last without Clarkson all will be forgiven.
I always thought Jeremy clarkson was a producer and all this talk of producers telling them what to do was just part of the show.

That followed a racism row after claims he used the n-word while reciting the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny Moe during filming of the BBC2 programme.
If they called him out on that it was dumb, from what I saw of the video it happened a decade ago on a Blooper-reel that never actually aired.
And he was forced to apologise for telling BBC1's The One Show that striking workers should be shot.
I don't see why this is an issue either, it's not like he's the prime minister, he's a cranky old man, he says things to wind people up. Why people allow themselves to be wound up by him is just beyond me.

Top Gear is dead without Clarkson and he'll undoubtedly be snapped up in an instant by another production company if BBC want to let him go.

Whenever I hear these things though I wonder is it just publicity, because I really don't think Clarkson is the bad boy the media make him out to be.

Show hasn't been good for a few years now. Probably past it's sell by date.

    Same with Clarkson.

    Clarkson will resign on principle.

Minor publicity storm, suspended for a week, be back next week. It's one of the top earning money spinners for the BBC, and money talks louder than minority groups and the average person who normally doesn't give a fiddlers about the whole thing.

Hope this gets resolved quickly so this ground breaking broadcaster returns to our screens.

In relation to his past controversial comments. How come the likes of Katie Hopkins talks absolute b*llocks and is put on every tv show, paper, radio station etc and clarkson says his own b*llocks (but sometimes what we're all thinking) and gets lambasted over it?

It's also pointless because everyone who read it thought of the word as soon as they read 'the n word'.

I didnt know that. So they could fire him. In which case he would just go to ITV or Channel 4 and makes millions there instead.

So who is May going to call an incorrigible cock now? Hammond? Fiona Bruce?? Ed (Honk!) Balls??? Be careful what you wish for.

Personally, I'd nearly put my own money into a Performance Bikes TV show, presented by Trevor "Pwalo of The Fens" Franklin. Anyone who thinks JC is offensive should check that out, twunts.

If Clarkson posted in AH, all the goody two shoes here would have him banned in 5 minutes  Just goes to show how reflective AH is of the ever growing PC culture that's destroying all the good stuff in life. Bring back my Top Gear now goddammit

Most watched tv programme world at least 250 million people, my hole will he be fired.

This blew my mind when they attempted it, what other broadcaster would do this? May's reaction of "no way" when it started to go up was about as unscripted as you could get (for a show that is very scripted)

Not anymore he doesn't and yes they do. The BBC bought the rights back in 2012. Clarkson is just an employee now, on a 3 year contract.

I'd imagine not two fecks does JC give. Hopefully. They'd queue around the block to sign him up to another channel.

The format has been getting quite stale tbf. I think Clarkson knows it and has been doing whatever he can to keep the show's name in the headlines - even if it's for the wrong reasons. This could be a PR stunt or maybe he has finally done something that has been construde as a step too far by the BBC.

For what it's worth I think May is the best presenter of the three. He's done some excellent stuff away from Top Gear.

Clarkson is a tabloid style presenter/journalist. As such his future should most likely be with the Murdoch empire - an organization with whom he would be the most politically aligned.
