But do you ever think "Maybe there is a little to much power here?"

Nope! I've actually been looking at 540i's now :P Finally being 21 with some No claims goes a long way!

Seems to be them alright! I like the look of the ones under them too.

Ya, they're nice, never seen them either in the flesh, they're 19's. The mk2.5 focus zetec with the sport pack has them, but an inch smaller.

It's a huawei p6. Despite what you might think, it's actually a really decent phone, almost have it a year, can't fault it, only for the camera. One of the lads has the same phone and the camera is crisp. Just a flaw with my individual phone, whereby it won't auto adjust whatsoever, even when you double tap the screen. I'll survive.

Did you ever try a different camera app? Just to see, there are numerous ones on the play store.

Car looked very like this when we first seen it. (From the front, back is completely different)

Ya the 24 spoke, they're awful to clean. I'd nearly prefer them to the 5 y spoke that I had on mine. Both were the main option on the zetec when new, but the 5 y spoke outsold the 24 spoke by the looks of it.

No. Didn't even know there was any. Will check that out.

Ah yes I remember you posting a picture of the 5 y spoke before, did you get new alloys on your Mondeo after?

3 years this year, for Aviva/Liberty it's enough to insure most cars.

Yep, coming in around 2k or less, the 525i is 1500 so not too bad. I don't think I'll bother upgrading for another 2 years or so and then a bit after that go for an M5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,308 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

    M5.

One of my dream cars e39 M5, e46 M3, Evo X, Nissan GT-R, in no particular order.

No. It is a nice straight 6 car but the e39 has more power but a bigger engine. I never searched for one but I'd say they are rare enough in Ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,872 ✭✭✭Foxhole Norman

Sure the E39 and mayyyyyybe the E60 are the only ones you'd want anyway :pac:

Went to view this for my younger brother today. It's NCT disc belongs to a 2008 Corolla! Always pull the disc out and inspect it!

Or just run the number plate through NCTS.ie before you even waste your time driving to the car.

    Any explanation from the seller?

So the seller took the N.C.T Disk of a corolla and put it on a arosa, What an idiot!

"Thanks, can I get a few copies of that?"

    :pac:

Something along the lines of his brother who owned the car had the disc as it recently passed and he was just driving round with that incorrect disc for checkpoints. We made our excuses and left. That's 3 dodgy nct's I've seen in the last year.

24 here, almost 4 years NCB. Aviva won't let me insure an S2000 or a Z4. Even though the Z4 has the exact same M54 engine as my own car, it must be seen as a much bigger risk!

Everything is a bastard to insure all the time imo.

When i was 17, the line was, wait until you're 21, it'l be cheaper... then that line changed to 25, now i'm 25 and it's looking like 30. My insurance has went up every year since i was 21. I remember one company telling me they considered the Vitz a high performance car because it had over 100bhp (110).

There's a real gap in the market here for a company willing to take on "older" and "performance" cars.

I've started to realise that unfortunately. Was looking into them now while they're not unpractical for me. Funny thing is, if I try to insure a newer model, say 2008+ with the 3.0 engine, 18k valuation, they're quoting me around €1k. Only trouble is, I don't have the money to buy a newer one and tax the 3.0 :P

I do think the car and location make a massive difference though. At 23 a 200bhp Golf in Dublin was fine, but lads back home in Trim were struggling to get insurance on 1.9 TDIs. I still can't get insured on an MX-5 at 27 either.

I found the same. Insuring my car with my Kilkenny address brought the price down by 10-15% comapred to the Cork address. And that's Cork county, not even the city.

In fairness out in the sticks they'd be just as quick as a gti with only a fraction of the health and safety gear. Seen a lovely 1990 hard top roadster yesterday. Nice red colour and not a screed of rust or a mark on it. so much want.

Lads assuming you had tyres that had really bad road noise wouldn't you just get a flat humming noise that gets worse as you speed up. Like you wouldn't get a woosh woosh woosh noise. I'm just checking as I can't say ive every had tyres that gave bad road noise.

True, but it was 141 I was looking for a quote on, so you'd imagine they're vastly superior in terms of safety than a 1990.

I've found the age of the car to be massive. Much more than the power, engine size etc. Just out of curiosity, I did an online change of car quote on my Aviva policy for a 2015 Golf R. €550 for the year. I couldn't believe it.

RWD with a cable throttle and no ABS probably doesn't help the mx5 either. A new gti would have all sort of electronic stability wizardry on the go. It's annoying when your a half decent driver but i suppose the insurance companies have no way of knowing if you stamp down on the clutch and brake pedals when things get a bit sketchy.
