need to put he lights on, but I won't. Bright day and no sun, no wonder they used to freak out when They didn't understand. It's quite dull and dark now, yet the sun is 'shining'.

Slight break in cloud cover there in Sligo town...

    .. nice glimpse for maybe 2 - 3 20 second intervals.

I always suspected that it was a complete myth that the temperature drops during an eclipse and thats the case at moment (cloud or no cloud) - temp steady and not dropping.

A little cloudy in Cork but enables watching with the naked eye, briefly.

Can see it in Dublin when clouds move!

Very dull in slane now. Birds quietening down an the air pressure is dropping according to my little weather station. Could that happen or is the air pressure just dropping anyway?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,650 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Gotten very dull in cork with the last ten fifteen minutes and not cold but not as warm as you'd expect. We have canaries in an aviary and they are chirping but not as much as they would do when the sun is out.

Getting a great view in the reflection of my car window, Looks pretty cool. Is it at max now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,005 ✭✭✭reap-a-rat

Plenty of breaks in the clouds in north Galway to get glimpses at each stage, very dark due mostly to the thick black clouds here! Birds were going mental a few minutes ago, are still chirping away now. clouds obscuring again but Sun looking like a crescent moon now.

Came out of the bathroom to my bedroom a few minutes ago, and the bedroom was dark. Now it's getting noticeable brighter.

Clear patch in the sky over Galway City for the last 40 mins, got to see the whole thing through welding glass, It got darker but not dramatically, It did get quieter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,326 ✭✭✭Blingy

Definitely starting to get brighter in dublin City.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,088 ✭✭✭eviltimeban

Full sun out now, but it's like someone has turned it down with a dimmer switch. So weird. Very eerie light.

just another rainy day here in finglas :( we had much better luck in '99.It didn't get dark as such, but everything looked a bit weird.

There was a lad with a welding mask out in the car park and through the breaks in the cloud we got a few good looks at it. Pretty amazing! Took some photos through the welding mask, they look cool, but you cant really see anything
