    i was wondering what those guy were doing hacking about, I thought the webcam sex shows were just cover for some off the books operation, but it just seems to be adimns messing around? as they run the porn servers

    Yup, just a pair of bored hackers. One of them was worried about what the boss would say when they devoted server power to their little exploit.
    What he'll do to the pair when the men in black come calling is probably best left to Berlin CSI.

    I'm just waiting for the episode where Peter Quinn - (not) Licensed to Kill has to take his wet shirt off while bumping off a jihadist (well I'm not but plenty of female fans of the series are I expect!) ;)

    Saul's comment about new Germans was a bit clumsy I thought.

    Carrie looks to be between a rock and a hard place. A season of her on the run trying to clear her name seems to be on the cards

    I may have missed it but why did Quinn kill that lady. Was she sneaking people into a terrorist group or something.

    Yes. Terrorist groom*. Her newfound lack of a head suits her. Saul is running an off the books one man assassination squad in the form of Quinn, maybe to convince the Germans that bad things happen on European soil. We need educating apparently.
    The lady pleading for her job is quite right in telling Dar Adal to recall Saul instead. 5 minutes in town and this is his grand plan.

    *to the extent that that was the target. If Quinn just shot the first bird in Muslim garb then we're in trouble. She'll turn out to be a high ranking German something or other instead.

    It was a hidden code he read from a newspaper.Saul left it in the deposit box in the post office.So Saul wants Carrie rubbed out?

    Hey look, it's a German current affairs show. Got a slight feeling Quinn was being played somehow, but that could be just the clinical way in which he operates, seemed like someone was following him and that yer wan was attuned to surveillance. Wasn't overly sold on the dialogue between the journalist's lawyer and the BND woman, predictable enough. The bit after between Saul and Miranda Otto's character was better, "If I were Carrie..."

    The jazz makes a brief return and Carrie's back in CIA mode, welcome to Beirut, indeed. She wasn't afraid in 2004, different story now.

    After watching that bit again she definitely said "bitte". I thought she said "Peter" the first time to be honest.

    Looks like this season will be one of the best. I didnt think they could turn it around but they have.

    He picked up a page from the drop box that had a coded message, as he decoded it, he wrote out M A T H I S O N.

    so wtf - everybody is out to kill Carrie? - the CIA and other unknowns who hired people in the refugee camps in Lebanon?

    (didn't make sense to me about the driver of the 4x4 being a guy that was paid off - if the plan had worked wouldn't he have been blown up in the vehicle..?)

    This seems a bit unfair as I have always thought the show showed the USA being every bit as bad as Al-Qaeda,Hezbollah etc.
    It could equally be said it is racist towards the USA:

    Not sure why the message had to be coded considering the first one wasn't. A simple picture would tell him all he needs to know and mean nothing to anyone else.

    Also, it can't be a simple kill order as Saul couldn't expect Quinn to 100% go ahead with it.

    the first one was received by quinn when saul was standing there. saul knew that it couldnt be intercepted. i imagine it would be pretty standard to encrypt all dead letter office messages. and it was pretty clear that quinns missions would all be assassination missions. i'm pretty sure saul specifically said this. he mentioned that proof of death would be required before further funds are released.
