dolphins and Suh might be at logger heads.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000628850/article/dolphins-consider-restructuring-ndamukong-suhs-deal

Given hes only 1 year into the deal and they still owe him 35 million, he aint going to be restructuring

$23 million cap figure next year  I didn't follow the Fins much this year, was he any good?

Not sure how he finished but early on they were terrible and I think I read criticism of Suh trying to get the big play every down which apparently opened gaps.

I watched a bit of them and to be fair to him, he was for the vast majority of the time I saw him.

He won't get the plaudits in Miami (for this season at least) because their D ranked poorly overall, but Suh was superb against the run and seemed to generate a lot of pressure on the QB when I saw them, but as we all know pressure is not a statistic that will leap out at people.

I think he'll always be underrated in Miami by fans, pundits etc because of his contract. He's never going to live up to that on face value (he's the only non-QB in this year's top 15 salaries I believe), but he was certainly underrated this year IMO.

I read stuff about him ignoring the DC and just doing whatever he felt like on plays. Told other players (via the press) to just "follow me". He's always been a dirty player, of course. This year he's also been a bad player, a media liability, and locker room distraction, and a massive expense.

So...not a great pick up all in all.

EDIT: OK so Paully says he hasn't been a bad player. I believe him. Didn't really watch the Dolphins much this year but certainly he'd have to be a damn sight better to justify that money.

Suh wasn't great the first few games, I believe, but after that he was a noticeable force. None of that DL was working well before they changed things up, though.

After the changes in miami there was definite improvement on the D as a whole. Suh had a good season after the first 5 games or so... still though that's an awfully big comtract

    :D:D:D.

No offence but just funny that you would offer up that opinion and I read it as such a strong statement and then you say you didn't really watch them and your opinion is null and void.

Thought Suh was excellent when I seen him in games, the only thing that I would say went against him was he tried to play every play and was obviously physically tired a number of times late in drives against the dolphins.

I mean I didn't really watch them later in the year. Watched their first few games under Philbin and the London game stank up the place and Suh was a disaster. So I stopped following them.

Enjoyed that ok, nice to see it from a philosophical standpoint and found the adjoining article in relation to 20-70-10 really interesting.

Excellent read, Heli. Thanks for posting. I posted this one when it came out, but I also enjoyed this one from Sunqist:

This is great for perspective. The top rated thread in the Panthers Sub, is from two years ago, when they were in meltdown and looking for Shula and Riverboat Ron's heads.

in fairness to them a lot of people where saying that the panthers where idiots for keeping him

Was that in the pre Riverboat Ron era(When Rivera was the coach but never took any chances)? If so they absolutely had a point, conservative play calling killed the team and they blew several good opportunities to win.

They were both big for the position, strong physically, cannon for an arm and athlethic, and while you may recall McNabb not running as much, he was a prolific runner early in his career. I'm sure we will see Newton dial back the rushing as he develops. I don't think McNabb had the same type of personality, and as such did not really inspire or lead the way Cam does. I don't think McNabb had the charactor for the big games, evidenced by 5 NFC championship games, 4 losses and didn't cover himself in glory in the Superbowl he got to. Too early to say for sure, but Cam seems to be built for the big stage.

You know how much these footballs cost? And these kids, they'll be expecting new footballs every week. Won't somebody think of the parents?

And the poor seahawks fans who had their flag thrown to the ground, who thought about them?

Down with this sort of thing.

Fair enough it's a bit of a straw man (although those terms were freely used about Sherman in the past), but certainly the never ending twitter stuff about how arrogant and awful cam is is extremely revealing. If he did the stuff manziel does, he'd be strung up. Manziel always seems to get a pass, or an excuse. Even though he's objectively sh1t, in every sense.

He did beat Alabama that one time though.

i dont think manziel gets a pass per say he's just been dismissed by a lot of people as a player so it makes sense that he's misdemeanours get less attention (not to mention that it happens so frequently that its hard to be surprised anymore) cam on the other hand is a legitimate mvp candidate if a guy like rodgers or brady does something it gets overblown

Manziel absolutely does get a pass in the American media. But he's white so it's not surprising.
