The Los Angeles Rams are officially back in the city of angels where they belong IMO. New logo and all that and a presser with Stan Kroenke the saviour of the Rams.

St. Louis not happy which is to be expected. St. Louis is having happen to them what happened twice in 1994 to LA.

See I'm more than happy for anyone to run IP checks or whatever is necessary to prove that I only have 1 account. I'm up front with my opinions - even when I make a tit of myself which frequently happens. I don't feel the need - nor do I have the time - to create up to 9 alternate accounts to boost my own Thanks Count or to bully others.

You should have made an accusation that I had alternate accounts in here, a forum I actually use, instead of the soccer forum where I've posted what, 20 times in the last 4 months? Or maybe the NotYourYear20 account is the one that makes foolish claims. Should I expect better from TomBTheGoat? Herpes Cineplex? How about AreYouWell?

Unlike you, I do my research :)
What about Archimedes, Tom_Brady, Peyton Manning to name another few ;)

Reggie Wayne has decided to call time on his career. Over 1,000 catches & 14,000 yards since being drafted in 2001. Obviously an exceptional player & not one I ever came across any negatives about. Where does he stand in the list of great WR's or was he just very good & benefitted from playing with Manning?

He's no Marvin Harrison and he's not nailed on yet. Hard for WRs it seems

Chicago still has a team last I checked, but I guess they wish they still had the Cardinals? At least there's always the hockey.

Absolutely no problem with people renaming their accounts or closing one account and opening another unless its to get around a ban.

Maintaining several accounts to back yourself up in arguments and give yourself thanks is quite frankly ridiculous.

Just watching the rebroadcast Super Bowl 1 on Gamepass. Have to say it's really enjoyable. :)

Not the same thing. He used to pay the membership and changed his name a couple of times. He also closed his account a couple times and nowadays you have to create a new account. Difference is he has only 1 account.

as JCTO points out, there was no cross over on those accounts (as far as I know) and the Peyton Manning was a name change on a bet. Also JaMarcus closed his accounts a few times for stuff (which means you have to restart with a new username), I think exams one time and then right in the middle of his top 100 player countdown another time too, so I think its a bit unfair to pull out a post like that when he is banned and cant respond himself. Just my 2 cents.

    Anyway, go Pats!

Agree, thats enough of the speculations, cards/bans will ensue from hear on out, I would prefer not to have to ban someone during the playoff run.

I saw something on Twitter last night and got me thinking. Why don't teams have a play lined up for when they have to spike the ball at the end of a half to stop the clock?

KC spiked the ball on a first down towards the end of the first half and as a result they only had 2 chances to get the ball in the end zone as opposed to the usual 3 and they ended up kicking a field goal with 16 seconds left on the clock. Plenty of time to run another play if they had a down which they didn't because Smith spiked on the first down to stop the clock.

Is there any reason why teams don't have a few options up their sleeve that they prepared during the week for when they're up against the clock and in the red zone? Even say it in the huddle at the start of the drive and let players know that in the eventuality that they they get a first down with the clock running and they're in the red zone, they're going to run play x or whatever instead of the QB spiking the ball.

I'd have thought many teams do have two minute drills designed for a short clock. The Reid-led Chiefs are not likely to be a model of time pressure play though.

A lot have a "fake spike" play, but if you did it every time you lose the surprise element. So most teams would keep it for when a season is on the line (like Packers last season).

The chiefs spike was weird, probably poor planning. Teams like NE and GB always have something for that. With GB it's usually both was run to the end zone and hook back, hoping the defender guesses to the wrong side (eg if they turn outside to the sideline, or inside closer to the QB - Jordy Nelson and Rodgers are scary good at connecting on there, and that's a big thing the offense was missing this year), with a TE going over the middle and one other player doing something different. With the Pats it seems to be Front out to a post, edema slipping underneath across the middle and another WR staying close, just at the end zone line.

Teams know what GN or NE will do here, but it's so hard to adjust and get ready for it so quick (often with the wrong personnel) that it doesn't matter much and is almost a kid of 'free play' for the offense in that it very rarely leads to a sack of turnover and only takes 3-4 seconds.

Yeah I'd have thought that personnel would be the main issue. They don't know who would be on the field in that situation so how can anyone design a play?

To be honest at the point when you're looking at having to spike the ball the chances are that the time is more of a factor than the number of downs left. You're almost certain to be better set if you have time to call a play.

Of course it is different in Madden :)

My favourite spike story of the (college) season. QB spikes on 4th down

Ahaha that's great. Kirk Cousins the other week was not quite as bad but still pretty woeful spiking

For me, the 2 minute drill is the epitome of the sport, the time when the great QBs assert themselves, show their calmness and leadership, let that confidence ooze through the supporting cast and calm them down.

I always want a QB to smile when they know they have 2 minutes to win a game.
