The Texans have released Matt McGloin and signed veteran journeyman Josh Johnson,

The man hasn't had a proper start since 2011 yet Texans said he kappernick hasn't played in a while haha, also apologies from bringing back up the kap issue

Johnson was horrific in preseason for the Giants. There was a gulf in quality between him and Geno Smith.

Yep, i think he said he was benched because of his groin, which he feels he wasnt getting help with, so he said he needed surgery and they released him.

    Colts. Dumpster. Fire.

For a team that's building for the future that could be an awesome signing.

The article makes a fair point that if it doesn't work out then they don't have to do it again but if they do then great. But I kind of figure it's likely to appeal to some and not to others, but with things like the red button these days, there's no particular reason why viewers shouldn't be able to choose one view or the other in future. Personally I'd like an angle where I can see what receivers and the secondary are doing further up the field before the pass, I often feel like a lot of the interesting stuff in a given play only becomes visible on the replay, when you get to see the coverage and routes, whereas on the live action you're just seeing the QB with no real idea of what he's taking in further downfield.

You can't fault the competitor in him.

This site has the full post game interview. He chokes up at the end, which is rough to see. https://www.pscp.tv/Seahawks/1djGXMyWqyyJZ?t=4m38s

You can't. Their competitiveness is really a double edged sword at times. He would not be as good as he is without that competitive spirit but you have to figure it would have healed quicker had he started resting earlier in the season.

I think we'd all pay good money to see that.

As I said in the Week 10 thread, the players are paid good money to play on Thursdays. The rights alone are worth something like $275 million a season and you can be sure that the CBA took account of that regarding the salary cap. If players want Thursdays gone they'll have to concede somewhere else.

A partial work around could be that teams play Thursdays when coming off bye weeks however even if you spread out bye weeks a bit more than currently (reducing their benefits) you'd still have weeks where there wouldnt be TNF.

I don't think you'll find anywhere in my post where I disagree with any of that. I just said I'd like to see Roger Goodell getting his ass handed to him in Green Bay in winter.

But anyway I'm pretty sure Sherman says he has no particular problem with the idea of Thursday night football, that every players knows what they're signing up for. He just notes, correctly, that all of the stuff Goodell says about the league's commitment to player safety is undermined by insisting on playing games four days apart. Both things can't be true at the same time.

introduce 2 bye weeks, you play thursday, you get a bye. Heals bodies, keeps players healthier long run. Simple solution

They could shorten the stupid preseason while they're at it.

I have him in a dynasty league and I'm still not sure I'll play him, it's not like he'll get all of Elliott's reps, would expect him to be in a rotation.

They could indeed but give double bye weeks, IT wouldnt have to add anymore weeks to the season, just lesson the amount of sunday games.

You play thursday, bang 12 days to recover. Keeps player safety issue in check, Helps rest tired bodies, would make the league healthier over all which is a good thing
