Cowboys at 1.30 AM is just too late as I'm up at six in the morning
I'll watch tomorrow but will tune in to red zone and see what else is on sky

Packers-Seahawks should be a good game, but tbh at the start of the year every game is exciting.

I'm slightly biased but the Packers game tonight should be the pick of the weekend hopefully. The Cowboys/Giants is the only other eye catching one, but its on at ridiculous o'clock Irish time.

Will be interesting to see if Eddie Lacy gets some gametime for the Seahawks.

Whatever chance Hue has of turning the Browns around, they all need to be on the same page.

    Doesn't look good.

All processes are subject to an element of review of the Courts, at least on a point of law.
Correct, that's what is happening in this case, as per the judges assessment.

I've a newborn, so will just catch the first quarter. Man, used to be able to watch all the games (even the late night one if it was the Pats), but not for a few years at least!

I'm near getting too old for the 21:30 games so I'll watch tomorrow evening after work. Hopefully the Packers have more 18:00 ones in the coming weeks.

Work at 7am these days........ I loved my previous job, flexible hours, easier to stay up for the late games.
    Growing up sucks :P

I saw earlier that the Texans had five players suffer concussions including all three TEs. That's got to be some kind of record for one team in one game. And they've got a game on Thursday. This is why I'm not a fan of Thursday night football. It's a game that for the most part isn't good in terms of quality due to teams not having a full week for the next. I mean those five players have very little time to get cleared for the next game, and it may lead to players being cleared but not having the time to be fully back. Those extra four days mean a lot.

Texans going with Deshaun Watson as their starting QB for TNF, already.

Watson looked better on Sunday in fairness.

Tom Savage was diabolical. You couldn't go with him again, to be fair.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Going by how the rest of the team has played under him, O'Brien does appear to be a good coach - however lots of good coaches have their achilles heels, like Andy Reid and clock management, Mike McCarthy being and challenges or getting way too lax with big leads, or Bill Belichick with the propensity to smile (it's all I got on that guy). If however O'Briens is QB management... that's enough to ruin his NFL prospects.

They had to know Savage and Watson were way too much of a question mark for an otherwise very solid team, even a run of the mill experienced journeyman like McCown or Hoyer could make a notable difference to that team (even as a QB battle option in preseason), you simply cannot neglect the QB position like that and in the NFL, just look at the Broncos last year and their defense is ridiculous (and I'd put Siemian as a decent career back up game manager type at that, both Savage and especially Watson were hugely unproven players).

I'm very surprised they didnt go in for Cutler, whatever his faults he's for better than Savage or Watson imo.

Texans won't do anything without a QB no matter how good their defense is

There's no chance they'll look at Kaepernick anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,476 ✭✭✭Blut2

Does anyone else watch the BBC NFL highlights show on Tuesday nights? I find its an excellent way to catch-up on other teams' games that I wouldn't really have the time to watch in full at the weekend.

On the show last night though they seemed to be showing the actual footage from games (not the analysis - that was in normal ratio) in some sort of stretched extra widescreen image ratio format. Does anyone have any idea why that might have been? When I watched the Packers game live on Sunday it seemed to be in a normal aspect ratio, so I'm not sure if the aspect ratio is being imposed by the BBC or if its coming from the footage itself.

It's a bit of a joke too, I mean Marshawn Lynch got picked up by the Raiders so we're hearing claims that "if Kaepernick was good enough he would have been picked up too" etc.......... and then we see what's going on in some places like Houston.
