    Antrim 1-18 Kerry 2-16

Kerry are promoted to Division 1B next year. That's great for them, next season they'll be up against the likes of Clare and Limerick. Very disappointing for Antrim but I suppose you can't say they deserved to stay up, that's the cut-throat nature of a promotion/relegation system and it would just weaken the competition if a team who aren't good enough to stay up were kept there. Need to regroup and get promoted from 2A now.

great to see somebody from 2A beat the system, Antrim and others had the benefit of it before, won't be so easy for them to come back up. relegation should be the same between all divisions, not giving teams in 1B an extra chance to stay up

Delighted to see that Kerry won. Fully deserved.

delighted for kerry but i think they will find it tough but its good for them to be in 1B in 2016.

I dont see Antrim even getting past the group stages of the leinster championship this year

Delighted that we finally got up to Division 1B,no doubt we will find it tough to in that division next year but I would hope that we would be competitive enough at the same time.

The goal all year has been getting back to Croke Park in June for the Christy Ring Final and winning it this year, after winning Division 2A last year it was disappointing to lose the final of the Christy Ring last year,

It would be great to have our lads playing 1B in the League and in the Leinster Championship qualifier group next year,

It would be a great boost to hurling in the county.

Is Brendan Cummins still the goal keeping coach in Kerry?

Well done to Kerry in getting closer to their illustrious neighbours when it comes to the small ball!

Fair play to Kerry for getting promoted. Great to see.

Yes great to see a bit of variety of counties coming up, Kerry have been knocking on the door for awhile, have done well at schools level. I know they'll play limerick away, I wonder will they have Clare at home? They're another county that would benefit from a properly graded minor and u21 inter county setup...

Huge challenge for them to stay in the division, but that's what they need to do if they're going to keep improving.

    Why not the Munster Championship????

Team promoted from the Christy Ring go into the Leinster Championship, as of now.

Probaly because theirs qualifying rounds in leinster that antrim had to play in before they could play in the leinster proper

It's actually for the best that they play in Leinster. With all due respect to them, there isn't a county in Munster that they'd have a chance against, whereas in Leinster there are a couple.

Exactly,we are no where near strong enough to take part in the Munster,I would hope we would be competitive in that Qualifier group that's where we need to be,we need to get in there and try and establish ourselves as a Liam McCarthy team and be in that group with Laois,Antrim,Westmeath and Carlow on a yearly basis,

But before all that can happen we have to go one better this year and win this years Christy Ring.

Except there is a play-off again this year, isn't there? So Kerry would not only have to win the Christy Ring, they'd also have to beat the likes of Westmeath or Antrim again. Which is certainly not impossible, but makes it more difficult.

And London are back down in the Christy Ring now after putting up a decent display in the Championship last year.

They got rid of that play off at congress so this years Christy Ring winners will now get automatic promotion to that qualifier group for the 2016 Leinster Championship

If Kerry were to finish in the top two of the Leinster qualifier group they would take their place in the Munster quarter final and not Leinster. I'd love to see it happen.

Interesting, and is there relegation from that group?

I think so automatic relegation to the Christy Ring Cup from this year on

Proposal 10: Remove the Promotion/Relegation playoff involving the bottom team in the Leinster Round-Robin competition and the Christy Ring Cup champion. Instead the bottom Leinster Round-Robin team would be relegated to the Christy Ring Cup while the Christy Ring Cup champion would be automatically promoted as a reward for winning the competition.

Can see the div 1 final being a Tipperary vs cork affair. I think there just a head of Waterford and dublin. Waterford had a good run hopefully they can bring that form into the championship

The all ire semis will be Tipperary vs kilkenny ( leinster champions) and Clare vs cork (Munster champions) Imo. Galway and Limerick to lose out in the quarters

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Tipp's injuries will make it tighter than many expect on Sunday imo. Dublin will probably be eager to put up a better showing than in Croke Park against Cork.

Missing Callanan, Cathal Barrett, Kieran Bergin and now Noel McGrath. Arguably our 4 best performers in this league. It's a 50/50 game Sunday.

Hope Noel makes a speedy recovery.

A great hurler great attuide for the game

Callinan cleared for Sunday, could be the winning of the game for Tipp.

    Two interesting games today.

First off, Dublin beat Limerick fairly handily but Limerick were very poor, there was never a huge amount of intensity and Schutte was allowed do what they wanted.

Cork have better forwards imo but had to dig deep against Wexford to beat them. I think Dublin are focusing on the league more, but it should be a good game all the same.

And a goal for Schutte already! Wow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,753 ✭✭✭corny

Cork way off the pace. Looks like they were expecting a repeat performance from Dublin.

Rushe having far more influence further out from goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,109 ✭✭✭letowski

The Dublin attack is very potent again today, very good aerially. They look in great shape going into the summer. Players like Schutte and Dillon have really stepped up to be good forwards at this level.

Long way to go in this game nonetheless.

Cork fighting for it a bit better now but serious lead to give up.

Cork's backline is in all sorts of trouble here, 2-15 is a massive score to ship in 35 mins.
